To Lucy:

My aunt fixed this once, and it's incredible! She added strawberries to the jello mixture. The pretzels give it a nutty taste and texture.

Pretzel Jello

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
2 1/2 cups small pretzels
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 8 oz cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 large cool whip
2 cups boiling water
2 3 oz packs jello of choice.

Melt butter and mix with pretzels. Spread in 9 x 12 pan and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Dissolve jello in water and let thicken some. Mix cream cheese with sugar and then add cool whip. After pretzels have thoroughly cooled, spread this mixture over pretzels. Pour jello over cream cheese layer and refrigerate until set.

Enjoy~

Would that work with frozen berries? When they thaw out, they get kinda "mooshy."

I bet that's delightful with FRESH berries, though!

I didn't even realize that it was frozen berries you have! It would be okay but it is meant for fresh strawberries. (fresh pineapple is also good this way)

I say if you have frozen berries try making some sorta smoothie or other frozen drink.

1 can 29 oz of pears

3 envelopes of knox unflavored gelatin

3/4 C. cottage cheese

3/4 C. sugar

1 1/2 C. water

1-2 C. frozen strawberries

1 C. frozen blueberries

Spray jello mold with cooking spray and set aside.

Drain pear juice to measure 1 1/2 cup and add water if you don't have enough.  Pour 3 envelopes of knox gelatin over top of juice and let set for 3 minutes.

Bring to boil water and sugar.

Put pears and cottage cheese into blender with the knox gelatin juice and blend until smooth.  Pour boiling water/sugar mixture into blener and blend mixture til smooth.

Arrange 1/2 of strawberries and blueberries in jello mold, pour the pear mixture until it covers the fruit.  Then add other half of fruit and pour the rest of mixture into the mold.  Refridgerate until firm...at least two hours.

I'll probably fix the mushroom crockpot steak some time this week, Miss Shelby. Come on over! This time, I have a large can of button mushrooms I found at the warehouse store.........AHHHHHHHHH!!

(my son doesn't like mushrooms, so we fight over the ones he picks out of his servings, LOL!)

My favorite strawberry pie

Combine 1 pkg (4-serving size) of Vanilla pudding (not instant), 1 pkg (3 oz) strawberry jello, 2 cups water and 1 tsp lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Chill until it starts to thicken. Blend in about 1 1/2 cups cool whip and 1-2 cups sliced strawberries. Pour into a baked crust (either pastry or graham cracker) Chill until set, usually about 2 hours.

This is very good. You can also use some cream cheese instead of some of the cool whip. and it works really well with a walnut crust. yummy! :yum:

1/2 Cup Sugar
1 and 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 pint whipping cream (whipped) note: do not use the prewhipped stuff like cool whip you buy in stores, get the stuff you whip yourself.

Combine frozen strawberries, egg white, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla in large mixing bowl, beat with electric mixer aprox 30 min. untill very fluffy, and stiff. (it's worth the time)

gently fold mixture with whipping cream, pour into a grahm cracker crust. freeze overnight.

recipe for crust
1 cup crushed grahm crackers
2 Tlbs sugar
1/4 cup margarine (melted)

mix together crushed grahm crackers with sugar, then add melted margarine mix well, press evenly into the bottom and sides of pie pan.
