"The finished work of Calvary needs no enhancement by man---or for man. Every price was paid at the cross. Man’s full potential can only be realized through the cross of Christ, and it needs no slogan, formula, or incantation to bring it to fulfillment. Once a person has this, he has everything he needs to bring him to his full potential. …Any time you hear these terms bandied about over television (or anywhere else for that matter) realize that the individuals using them may not fully understand what they are saying. But at the same time, don’t forget that they are actually suggesting that the cross is not enough, that it is necessary to augment Christ’s finished work with some "scientific philosophy" in order to realize our full potential. In short they are demeaning the work that was completed, once and for all, on the cross of Calvary.
Actually, this whole concept of "Human potential" will be one of the church’s greatest challenges in the days ahead." Jimmy Swaggart (Spiritual High Treason)

There are three essential aspects of the Christian faith ---Redemption Way, Church Truth, and Spiritual Life; beside general ministry about the Bible as God's Word for mankind. When one says all we need is Jesus --the Christ of God, that concerns redemption mostly, but also acknowledging that He is head of the Church and the center of spiritual life. Even in the OT Christ was the object of all sacrifices, hope, honor to God, though not named as such.

Believers need to always take "all the counsel of God" and be "rightly dividing the Word of Truth" as God tells us.

that's hard to do. requires diligence, commitment, honesty and integrity, a pure heart ...
(and more).... ...

where and how does someone get a pure heart? as it is written, "only the pure in heart shall(ever) see the kingdom of God".
