We definitely do see sin patterns in families ...
alcoholism is one, sexual sins are another common one also ...

And have you known any families where abortions are prevalent, down thru the generations?
Yes, we see that pattern too.

I aqree that these are generational sin habits ... ways of coping with life, unhealthy (sinful) ways usually learned within our birth families, particularly within those families where Jesus was not Lord.
Yes generational courses can be due to the covenant our grandfath or grandmother went into to obtain favour from the devil and unawares to them the devil does not give anything free it is common in Africa and countries that deals with black magic only the blood of Jesus can wipe it out

Once a person comes to Christ they become a whole new creation. Old things have passed away, all things have become new. The Scripture says that the born again believer has been set free from all evil. Therefore the believer is put right out of range of any generational curses and is no longer subject to them.
