The least interesting bassist I've heard in a major band is probably AC/DC's bassist. It sounds like they turn him down in the mix.

I like Leland Sklar, Bill Wyman, Geddy Lee, Cliff Burton, Jaco Pastorius.

Guess who my fav is..........................:D

Hi cyg!

gonna draw this out on us, eh?

btw, the names at the end in parenthesis, is that who is playing the bass? I'm terribly ignorant when it comes to music, but I noticed that Sting was mentioned, and I love Sting, but didn't know he played bass.....

Hi Imblessed ...

Yes Sting plays bass , some of the best songs ever penned have been by Bass players .........must be something to do with chord construction and counter melody ;)

That's very cool. I don't know much about music (AT ALL), but i enjoy listening to it, and I do like the bass. My husband play(ed) a little bass(maybe that's part of why I like it....lol;) ) Unfortunately it's one of those hobbies wayyy down on his priorities list right now....

it's pretty cool that Sting plays bass(come to think of it, I guess I have seen him in concert and in videos with a guitair....). He is a great songwriter in my opinion. I guess since he sings also, I just didn't really 'notice' the guitair.

Have you heard of the Cure? what do you think of them? they are one of my fav bands, and if my ear for music is right at all(which it probably isn't) there's alot of bass in their stuff.<----I'm probably showing my ignorance now....lol...I wouldn't be suprised if I was totally off on this....
