Welcome to the Scientific Discussion Forum (also know as the Evolutionary/Creationist debate forum)!

I'm your host, Josephus; and you will follow a few rules if you wish to participate here.

1. Be kind to your fellow poster. No name calling. No flame-inciting language.

2. Moderators reserve the right to close any thread that does not break a rule, for any reason, however not without the consent of another moderator. However, threads that do break rules will be removed as normal.

3. Cite your sources when copying and pasting information into your post. We aim for original thinking in this forum, and as such, we detest plagarism of any kind. We have several methods to determine if you have copied and pasted information. Abusers of this will be accused of violating the board's spam rule.

4. It is recommended, but not required, that you do not use information from the Talk Origins Archive, or Answers In Genesis as the main support for sources, nor the main source for the start of threads. The joy of thinking for yourself includes the joy of researching answers on your own apart from these two clashing source points, though they provide a good starting point to find other information. The reason we discourage the use of these sources is that many times the debate is an ongoing process between these two behemouths anyways, and people taking one side or the other will simply copy verbatim the other side's arguments and post them here. There are other venues to engage directly with Talk.Origins or Answers In Genesis; Christian Forums is not one.

5. Be willing to retire your conversation if one side or the other is getting exasperated.

6. 20 page discussions on massive generalized issues make for hard reading for beginners to get on board, so please limit your threads to talking about one issue, one point at a time.

7. You will come in here with the attitude and mindset that you are not always right. Stonewallers, and trolls need not apply (and hence will be happily removed from the board). This includes people on both sides of the debate.

Ultimately the motto for this board is:

"The truth is evident as far as we are willing to see it in its totality."

In short, the more willing you are to consider another person's viewpoint, the more productive to reach this goal of finding the truth, you will be; and hence the longer you will maintain in following rule number 7.

That is all. Welcome to the discussion.
