Receiving Yeshua as ones Saviour involves far more than mere mental acknowledgement. It is that shallow type of profession that has caused many congregations to go astray and to even send others away. I recently came across this on a church website:

Considering the false teaching that had been adopted there, I'm fine with this - however, it shows the waning of spirituality in the west.

Receiving Messiah and believing on Him are about equivalent terms; “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Yahweh, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).
So they have power, and privilege by adoption, to become the sons of Yahweh, by believing in Him, or receiving Him; so they have power to receive Him by virtue of their receiving faith, by the means of the sovereign will and intent of Yahweh.
“Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” (Galatians 3:2)

There is the act of faith in receiving, as Hebrews 11 tells us without faith it is impossible to please Him, then the object of our faith is the Messiah Yeshua, and that He is Lord, Adonai.

There is saving faith, and saving belief, as opposed to intellectual "faith" and belief that cannot save, and will never save, for it is in the head and not the heart. For the heart must be transformed, as Yeshua said all things that defile proceeded from the heart, including murders, and adulteries, which manifest often as hatred and lusts.

"Not everyone who says Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.' (Matthew 7:21)

"But the day of Yahweh will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of Yahweh, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." (2 Peter 3:11-12)
