Do you pray for those who died outside the faith, even rejecting Christianity as a whole?

God bless

"God be merciful to me a sinner. Be merciful to my family. God be merciful to the entire world."

Twice a day.

I don't see why we would.

"And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment" (Hebrews 9:27)
Jas 5:16 ...The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Not sure what that verse has to do with anything regarding this topic.

yes, because we don’t know if in that last second they repented.

Prayers for the dead is practiced in all of the ancient Apostolic Churches (Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Assyrian Church of the East). Those Churches ALL pray for the dead very frequently.

and God can take our prayers into account even after someone reposes

plus, if you know your history, St Paul does it in the NT.

and don’t forget Anglicans and traditional Lutherans.

This is correct. Even John Wesley (founder of Methodism even though he was a lifelong Anglican priest) prayed for the dead.

Can I ask what from the Bible that is based on? AFAIK, there is no crossing over after you are dead.

If you pray for those outside the faith it might do some good.

Don't see any evidence of that. Regarding after they are dead, I mean.

based on any Bible, unless you think God is bound by time. and, by your own power you can’t cross over, but God can save anyone any way He chooses to.

IDK, Jesus' Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man seems to go against that. Why would Jesus affirm something that was a popular view at the time unless it was true?

Yes, even those who, by all evidence and reason, are not believers.
I am moved in my spirit sometimes to pray for family members, even those who have passed.
I believe God can do anything. Nothing is impossible. He is the Lord of time and space. I may not be able to substantiate it, but I believe God can answer our prayers into the past. So, yes, I do pray for everyone who comes up before my heart.
