Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley’s vehicle found abandoned near Kansas border
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that it believes two women who
vanished over the weekend while traveling to pick up children are "in danger" as it’s now been days since they were last seen.
The vehicle that Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, were driving in was found abandoned Saturday in a
remote part of the state near the Kansas border. The women were "traveling together to pick up children" but they "never made it to the pickup location," according to the Texas County Sheriff’s Office.
"We believe they are in danger because we have not heard from them in, coming up on three days now," OSBI public information manager Hunter McKee told Fox News Digital. "Where their vehicle was last seen was a very rural area of the state as well. We have not found them yet. We are doing everything we can."
The OBSI earlier described the situation as a "suspicious disappearance case."

For those who prefer a summary of the
article, including a description of the two people who are missing, here it is:
The article by Greg Norman, published on April 2, 2024, reports on the disappearance of two women, Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, who were last seen while traveling to pick up children in Oklahoma. The women were reported missing on March 30, 2024, when their vehicle was found abandoned in a remote area near the Kansas border. According to the Texas County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), they have not made it to the pickup location.
The OSBI believes that the women are in danger, as they have not heard from them in several days. The last known location of their vehicle was in a very rural area, and they have not been found yet. The OSBI described the case as "suspicious."
Jilian Kelley is a mother of four and runs children’s programs in Hugoton, Kansas. She is also the wife of Heath Kelley, who is set to become the new minister at the Willow Christian Church in Indianola, Nebraska. Veronica Butler, described as having red hair and green eyes, was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt and denim shorts. Jilian Kelley has brown hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and tan or beige shoes.
The OSBI has issued a missing persons advisory with descriptions of both women and their vehicle. The vehicle they were traveling in, a black 2014 Chevrolet Equinox with the Oklahoma license plate number JJX-935, was found abandoned near Highway 95 and Road L, south of Elkhart, Kansas.
The community is rallying behind the families with prayers and support, as evidenced by a Facebook post from Willow Christian Church asking for prayer for the safe return of Jilian Kelley and Veronica Butler.
The article also mentions that Veronica Butler has several tattoos, including a Chinese symbol on her left forearm and a sunflower on her left shoulder. Jilian Kelley has a butterfly tattoo on her left forearm.
The investigation into the disappearance of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation or the Texas County Sheriff’s Office.
