Then there's the fixation on sin.

OB
Yup -- much worse than this coronavirus going around.

100% of the population will die from it -- no exceptions.

Even the plants and animals.

Makes the coronavirus look like an outbreak of measles.

True Christians would exclude themselves. But they have apologized to Christians for the inquisition and persecution. They have invited Muslims in. The Protestants and orthodox are not far. Hindus are being negotiated with and it’s like for world peace and human rights.

So do you think that being kind to people of other religions is a bad thing?

Gods not going to do it @Zoness people are. So the questions why are Catholics doing this when the Bible says it will be done in the end times.

Citation needed.

They want to include all the worlds incompatible religions.

I pray you don't have a hot retirement!

Not gonna lie; if my only choices are to bake in the heat where the majority of souls are just regular people who didn't happen to be Christian, or spend an eternity hanging out with fundamentalist Christians, I will happily choose a hot retirement. It's not like I'll have a nervous system to feel it anyway.

But if god knows that I think hell would be worse than heaven, maybe he will punish me by letting me into heaven after all. Hmm Christianity sounds like a lose-lose proposition. I better stick with my own religion.

is this a standard pagan attitude toward fundamentalist Christians?

If so, is it because we stole their [Christmas] tree? Samhain? Saturnalia? whatever?

I'm not sure what your specific beliefs are.

Ours are right up in the storefront window.

Or more precisely, the fixation on particular sins.
Particular sins stem from a sin nature that resides in our flesh.

As we're fond of saying:

We aren't sinners because we sin, we sin because we're sinners.

I'm just a sinner saved by grace.

I don't know if it's standard but I bet it's not uncommon, even among non-Pagans.

If so, is it because we stole their [Christmas] tree? Samhain? Saturnalia? whatever?

The solstice is a naturally recurring, annual event so it doesn't belong to anyone. The meaning of the holiday is highly personal, like the rest of the Pagan holidays. And you're welcome to keep the commercialized version you've got going on. Hey, with the pandemic still raging, maybe people don't have to worry about getting trampled or stabbed while shopping for those sales this year!

I'm not sure what your specific beliefs are.

I tend not to believe in an afterlife and that any descriptions of such are wishful thinking, which tells me a lot about people who have a fixation on hell.

So, I can save people by removing their flesh?
Hmm, 30 days to Halloween...
It won’t save you though. I feel bad for people without Christ. No one to lean on and always in your own strength. Just a note of encouragement. I don’t want to argue.

I don't have anything to be saved from.

There's nothing encouraging about that. It's also a lie and lying is a sin. You should repent and get right with god before its too late.

Do you think that Catholicism can be the one world religion. Do you think the can accept Muslims and Hindus who persecute the church of Jesus. They have made some progress already. Will they complete it and why would they even try?

I don't know about one religion but the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of God,

I'm just wondering where the low tolerance comes from.

That's a very long list.

For me, at least, the top three are:

I have friends, family, and coworkers who are lgbtq. Some of the friendliest, kind-hearted and most talented people I know. They are very important to me and I care about them greatly. But conservative Christians have been dedicating their lives for decades trying to deny them not only their rights, but their basic human dignity.

Trying to legislate their unsubstantiated beliefs into law.

Their general attitude. In the outreach section where I would expect Christians would be presenting their best, it's largely how terrible non-Christians are to the point where several seem rather delighted at the idea of us being tormented in hell for the rest of eternity.

I think this point's towards why I don't see a One World Religion happening. That's because Lovers of God of other spiritual trajectories that do not rely on Christ absolutely DO find a place of Divine strength to lean on. And there's no way to convince them otherwise.

Well, for the record, that's the Holy Spirit's job to do the convincing.

Our job is to be a witness for what Christ has done for us, and let God take care of the rest.

What Catholic doctrine specifically says this? And why take it up on the CWR forum and not with the Catholics?

I don't think the Catholics intend to include my religion. :D

He's got a point though, if heaven is only composed of the Jerry Falwells of the world or other very committed fundamentalists and hell is everyone else [if you're fundamentalist, Catholics and Orthodox are probably in hell too].

Well at least I'd know people in hell. With all those scientists and naturalists down there, the place should have air conditioning by now!

Heaven is open 24/7, see past "Religion/s", discover the goodness that surrounds us.

My older sister married a Catholic from SW Ireland,
they have both passed on, blessed be their memory.

They have two daughters that shine like the stars.

Was out shopping bought a paper carrierbag,
it was a wet day, a lot of people getting on the bus.

while the rush was on the bottom of my bag fell out,
groceries and whatnot rolling around on the floor,

a Muslim woman emptied a plastic bag and handed it to me,
another Muslim woman picked up my shopping and put them in the bag for me.

Moments when the Almighty looks down and smiles.
so to speak.

Every cloud has a silver lining, or so it goes.

:)
