Hagar is who Paul used in his analogy of the law found in Galatians 4. She represents carrying out God's purpose by the working of human means. That's what flesh and the law is. Law/flesh vs the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. In other words : we are to lean on God for direction and not to use the best of our old natural abilities to do things our way.

Why? Because God has blessed us with the riches of Christ that He wants to wrought into us through the power of the Holy Spirit that our new birth set within. But that cannot be accomplished without co-operation of us to death of the old nature, both good and evil. They must remain on the cross.

The new creation being worked into us is no less than all that Christ is, other than His Godhead. He is our righteousness, He is our patience, He is our holiness etc . Everything that we need to overcome the flesh, world and satan are acquired from Him by means of the Holy Spirit within, as we yeild ourselves to Him.

We're reborn and seated in the heavenlies with Him. At the throne of grace His blood cleanses the conscience and is help in times of need. Boldly go into the Presence in praise and prayers. He is there with us waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool.

Looking to the heavenly place that is our dwelling place, found within the heart of His love, gives our hope the strength that, as one is moved from glory to glory, that hope cannot be deferred but shall accomplish God's desire for His children and that trust the promised land will be rewarded. Stand in His Word. Amen
