On 19 June, 325, the first ecumenical Council of Nicea met to deal with, especially, Arianism.

Should we celebrate the anniversary in 10 days?

In the Orthodox Church, we celebrate all of the Councils on the first Sunday of Lent.

Didn't we celebrate Sunday of the Holy Fathers a few weeks ago as well, where we honour the 318 Holy Fathers at the first Ecumenical Council?

I never knew that any of the Councils were celebrated by anyone. I just thought that as it was a significant turning point...

How would you celebrate it anyway?

There are special hymns and prayers within the Orthodox Church for remembering those who have paved and kept the way pure. It's kind of our way of saying "Faith of our Fathers."

We did indeed! It is one of the many things that I have grown to love and appreciate about the Orthodox Church. We do not forget where we have come from. We are always mindful of where we are headed, and yet we are encouraged to live in the "now".
