my nwephew will be goign in to the navy as of tomorrow proably will be stationed in gaum.

If enlisting, your nephew will have to go to boot camp (3 months) and then schooling first before an assignment is given. Depending on the outcome of the schooling and type of schooling, the assignment or orders are then given. I am rather suprised to hear they have been told that guam is it.

When my hubby enlisted about 15 yrs ago, we did not know his first assignment for the 1st year.

What rate (type of job) did your nephew get assigned?

I wish him well with that. Both my grandfathers were in the Navy during World War 2. I hear that it is a very interesting experience.

Hello Tom...My Nephew has been in the Navy about 11 years now. Joined up when he was 18. He will make a career out of the Navy,he is for the long haul..till he retires from the Navy...He seems to really love and care so much for being a Navy guy. LOL He is married with 2 very young children,they seem to work it all out so well...... God Bless all the Military!
