Let Thy Roots Find Water

Dear saints of God, brothers and sisters in Christ; did you know that if certain trees are watered too much their roots will begin to rise to the top surface of the ground and compromise the strength and survival of the tree? Isn't this interesting in the light of the present "revivals" and the overmuch calling for the "rains" of God's Spirit.

Certainly it is right to "call for the rain, in the time of the latter rain" as the Scripture has declared (Zech. 10:1), but not without having a proper understanding of God's ways.

You see, when a tree is watered properly...given the right amount of water "from above"...on the surface, then the roots are forced to go downward to find underground water tables. And of course, as the roots go down they are naturally strengthened...fortifying the foundation of the tree. This is God's way with natural trees, and this is God's way with us "spiritual trees"...which He is "planting in the wilderness" (Isaiah 41:17-20).

There are many Scriptures which verify this Truth. Let us look at them now...

This was God's way from the beginning:
Genesis 2:5,6 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Genesis 8:2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

Proverbs 8:28 When He established the clouds above: when He strengthened the fountains of the deep...

Do you get the picture? You hear of the multitudes these days calling incessantly for the Rains of God's Spirit, not understanding that merely surface experience is not enough to establish their hearts in the eternal plan of God.

And God is faithful and wise in His "raining upon the just and the unjust" equally, without respect of persons.
(Matthew 5:45)

It rains upon the wheat and the tares; it rains equally upon the weeds, thistles, flowers and trees. But God's dealings on the inside are different with His called and chosen, His elected and called-out ones. We have been brought out into a wilderness place where the rains, the waterings, and personal dealings of God upon our lives are meted out in true measure and true balance for our True Growth into Christ's image.

God sees to it that a true balance of sufferings and grace are meted out to us to best benefit our growth and strength of character, and our effectiveness in service.

1Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His Glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory that shall be revealed in us.

It is all part of God's plan to let all things come to their full manifestation before they are all separated into their final destinies and judgments.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into My barn.

Praise God for His marvelous plan and His awesome wisdom!

We have all heard the analogy of the tree that is blowing in the wind, being buffeted by storm and the many hardships of the seasons. Suffering drought at times, as well as enjoying the blessings of rain and sun and shade. In all of this, the roots of the tree dig deep...finding their way down into the "secret" recesses of nourishment and refreshing.

So it is with God's elect...they cleave to the "Breasty- One"...El-Shaddai. We cleave to God with purpose of heart...letting our roots go deep into His heart, even into the very "Holy of Holies" where our hope is anchored. "Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the Forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an High Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec." (Hebrews 6:19,20)

Even in these times of "Jacob's trouble"...in these times of great tribulation and anguish and deception...we draw from El-Shaddai strength, nourishment and the "certainty of Truth." As well, we draw from the inner supply of God's Spirit which He has deposited abundantly in our inner-man. The Well of Water "springing up" and the Rivers of Water "over-flowing."

Our roots go down deep where the "waters are sure and unfailing."

Isaiah 58:11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Glory be to God forever!

"Breasty-one"??

That's a new one. But I understand your meaning. Thanks for stopping by.

"Breasty One" has to do with Him being our 'all-sufficient supply', as the One from Whom we "draw" all that we need...the "milk" of the Word, the "hidden Manna" and the revelation of ther "meat'. El-Shaddia...the all sufficient ONE.
