As far as I understand the desire to plant churches comes from a conviction that the Lord has shown a group of people that there is a need for a new kind of expression of his love in a part of the country which is in need of it.
My proposal for debate is: how often should a new church be planted? This is regardless of denomination. How big should a church plant grow before it sends people out to plant another church? The model of multiples of 12 seems to have dried up. Why doesn't a church plant a new church every 6 to 12 months? Do we have to provide full training before sending people out to plant? The need is there. But what are the dangers of going too fast? Is the danger that we are not planting churches fast enough?
