Hard Rock and Rap

music isn't sinful, there are a lot of HardRock and Rap christian bands. We're supposed to use all types of music for the glory of God Regardless. It's not a genre of music that is sinful, but if people are using it for personal vindication in areas of profanity and obscene content that is a true shame. It's best we pray for them to realize that Music is a gift from God and should be respected and used to give our Savior glory.

Hip hop is one of my favorite genres, as far as hard rock goes, I like a few artists, but I think that nu-metal sucks!
I can't stand any hard rock from the '80's, or any of that rock/rap garbage.
I like underground hip hop, I can't stand all the garbage they play on the radio. I used to listen to Eminem way before he was famous, but I can't stand him now. I also think Missy Elliot is very talented. She's the most original rap artist right now...and Radiohead is the best band right now, period.

I love all music all depends on my mood. I hear it all the time and so does everyone else in the family if we don't listen to music that is 100% praising God or from a Christian Group like the Newsboys from my father in law. Although I prefer Christian Music more and more these days I still like it all.

I have no problem with any music genre(save for country;)) I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as "evil music". All music genres are acceptable may it be classical to hardest of rock. I like rap and metal seperated or combined. Just me. Am still an old school rocker though.

Everyone is right so far. Music isn't evil or sinful. It's how we use our musical talent that can be sinful. Rap...what can I say...I just can't stand it though...I actually like eminem because I respect him, and he has a true talent for writing lyrics. I just can't stand his extremely offensive profanity and some of the things he supports (sex, drugs, murder). But as for hardcore....everyone should listen to Project86 (check out the thread I made for them.) (I hope the link worked)...well that's my 2 cents

Jah people ride on!

I totally agree with you! I despise that rock/rap stuff.. it drives me nuts! And some of that 80's hard rock, like Skid Row or Ratt.. I firmly believe a mullet is required to listen to that. And what christians grow mullets anyway? Therefore, it's bad! :D

I like UG hip hop too.. like the Mystik Journeymen, Boogie Monsters, Diggable Planets, Aceyalone old Del the Funky Homosepian, etc. I'm not sure how bad any of that stuff is really.. some of the lyrics don't always make sense. I can't stand Eminem and that sort of "hip hop".. and I also don't like rap, like Ja Rule and DMX. They really, really stink, IMO.
