Hi Lily! Thanks for writing back to me and showing me the heart of the type of RPGs that you like doing.
My feelings are definitely mixed, but constant. The type of RPG I do now is with adults writing stories that are not of the godly sort. No further details need to be mentioned, but the point is that I want to take the same creative energy and move it to a platform of writing that is Christian and / or Clean based to get me out of that terribly bad habit.
I read your RPG with your friends thoroughly. The reason why I say that my feelings are mixed is because I am not used to the style of writing you do. On the other hand, you are very excited by that story and by the way you and others wrote it and that to me is enough to say hooray! A fellow writer!
The way I'm used to doing RPG, I control one character in a single story line and the partner controls a second character. There is no 'god-modding' or taking control of the other person's character, only controlling one's own character and world building and the environment with narrative that moves the story forward. Some people choose to control two characters or more, though I don't think I could consistently work on character development with more than two characters.
I normally also have done 1 x 1 RPG, meaning two players RPGing together. I am not as often good with group RPGs. However, for what I'm looking for - beggars can't be choosers!
My genres tend to be slice of life (which is what your example is Lily), supernatural, fantasy (usually like elves ... not like my avatar would give that away or anything), and maybe crime fighting.
I'd love to explore an RPG during the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ (of course with someone who believes that is really going to happen).
That is only a little bit about me and my style of RPGs.
I'd be open to suggestions on something else. But I do believe that before the RPG begins, the rules of dynamics for writing would need to be agreed to. Only for consistency sake. I'm sorry to say this because I think you are a very creative person ... I'm not sure I'm looking to co-author a story. Rather to literally play the role of another character via narrative. It may seem like I'm splitting hairs, but I'd rather not be sharing the responsibilities of writing one character. I'd much rather play one character (or maybe a second one and certainly NPCs that both parties could control).
I don't know, I need to talk it out ...
