Forgive me if this has been asked a million times before, but did it occur to anyone that it seems strange that none of the crew were survivors of the crash?

Well, other than the short-lived pilot, who was rather quickly taken care of by smokey.

Or am I forgetting someone?

I was trying to remember the name of the women who was with the "Tailies" and disappeared as they were walking through the woods and if maybe she'd been crew.

I think her name was Cindy and we did see her again. IIRC, the others brought her and the children to see Saywer and Kate in the cages.

Maybe most of the crew wasn't in the fuselage when the flight crashed. Cindy must have been in the back since she ended up with the tailies. Although it's possible there is some crew still among the extra background characters, and we just haven't met them.
