Should we care about our children's happiness?
Is it healthy for children to feed table scraps to a cat?
Should we care about our children's happiness?
LOL!!!Is it healthy for children to feed table scraps to a cat?
There is a lot more to a child being happy than indulging whims. It is about feeling loved and safe. No amount of “choosing” on the part of the child will change that. If the child is always afraid of being beaten or sexually abused or not believed, there is no way they can just choose to be happy.
YEs I understand that. This is true. I mean in the context of him whining he is not happy because he didn't get something he wanted. That is a choice he is making. I'm trying to encourage him to be in control of his emotions.
But you are correct there is much more than that. I was referring to his emotional manipulation tactics of complaining that I'm doing things that make him not happy, or not doing something that will make him immediately happy.
Like, "If you don't take me to *insert fun child thing here*, I won't be happy mommy! you have to take me or I won't be happy!" That is what I was talking about.
