After attending an ELCA church for a while my husband and I have decided to join. We are moving over from a Baptist church. My husband, our oldest son, and I have all been baptized already. Our two youngest have not. They are 5 and 3. What will the process be to get them baptized? We have a meeting set up to talk to the pastor, but I'm just trying to get a general idea in advance. Thanks!

Depending on the pastor and the congregation's practice, the path to getting your children baptized could be as simple as a single conversation ensuring you understand the Lutheran understanding of Baptism or as complicated as attending a series of classes. I would think closer to the former than the latter based on my experience in the ELCA. You and your husband will probably have some sort of "new members" classes or process to go through as well, but that would be separate from the question of baptizing your children.
