Abortion, is it Political?

So know one knows why the church, in the 17th century, decided to call abortion murder? Did God tell them to start doing so?

Life begins at conception. The Bible says this. Jeremiah 1:5

As far as I know, the Orthodox Church has always believed abortion is murder.

I cannot say about the RCC, but before 1054 (the schism) they would have believed the same.

What about Gen 2:7?

Obviously one has to be right, and the other wrong. How do you know which one? God can't have it both ways.

Also, that verse just says formed... it does not say life as stated in Gen 2:7.

That is most definatly your opinion. There are no studies to back that up (to my knowledge, maybe you could show me?). Fetus have no neural net, therefore it is impossible to be alive. Plain and simple.

Ah, fetuses dream. We know this because we can measure their brain waves. Fetuses sleep, suck their thumbs, hear sounds and know their mothers voice. They also feel pain. If you pinch them they cry.

Abortion is not a political issue at the heart but is a moral issue that stems from the command to love your neighbor.
