• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have suffered from binge eating disorder since I was in college at the age of #, before that I was a curvy # pounds ( # foot # ). Once I started binging and I still do not remember what event, spoken word, or action by someone triggered this, but it has been relentless and this year marks my #rd year wrestling with it, food and my body.

I am so tired.

I'm so glad you posted. To prevent triggering, we remove the numbers in posts just so you know.

Binge eating is such a difficult issue to deal with because we need food to function, but then we can use it for so many things, like comfort, stress, etc.

How has it been relentless this year? Can you see any underlying issues.

I'm sure you are tired, and I'm so sorry to hear that.

Sorry !
I should have remembered from my ED clinic program that numbers upset some gals. I thought perhaps being older and suffering so long that my experiences with it might prove valuable, but maybe not, if the numbers hurt someone and binged because of my post, which of course I don't want. It has been relentless since my school days and that is a very long time, I thought I was turning a corner this year and lost some and was eating much better, but I have multiple psy diagnosis's and am triggered at the drop of a hat. I take a lot of meds, but still ............

It's okay that you didn't realize. There are more that need the same edit. I've been having wifi issues. That said, I'm glad you're here and sharing. It's not a good road to travel alone.

Share what you need to share.... it's okay if you want to share more about your eating or the causes of the struggles.

What other restrictions did I need to be mindful of ? No numbers, no calories, no weight. Anything else I need to know ? I am unique in this area, as those sorts of things never trigger me, what triggers me are direct insults, slights, snide remarks, rejection, being mocked. But everyone is different.
