At first i was skeptical the CEO that was not at the meeting is said in the article to be in Denver yet the corporate headquarters is in Naples. There are administrative offices in Denver though. A small player in the oil business at 100 million in sales. I figured him to be some democrat but he does look at have some integrity, especially as he supported Trump in the past. Dan K. Only for, say, 245 years or so.
In Lincoln’s time patronage was already a time-honored tradition, it fell out of fashion but seems to be making a comeback of the “supply-side” (of all things)!

It's not really export or importing if you sell it from one place in your country to another.

Both. We are a net exporter of oil, but the oil we import is for the most part a different type than the stuff we export. So even if we were to stop exporting oil, the amount we imported wouldn't change appreciably, because we can't use it. That's why we can produce enough energy to be a net exporter and still not be energy-independent.

Exporting oil means we sell oil to others -

Oil independence means we produce enough oil that we produce enough to not need to purchase from others.

Ever notice that Biden used much of the strategic oil reserve right before elections - then has never re-filled it like he promised.

Who? Who isn't ?
The system is mixed up, topsy turvy, indiscernable in motive(s) and in result(s) - a lot of bad results in the news. Any good results ? Politicians have almost never been known to be honest and helpful.
Dictators in history have been known to usually be mean, but one or two or so were very good and helpful for the people....
Democracy ? Very mixed results, not so much good.
