As I've been telling everyone so many times now.

I practice "restricted feeding schedule" or "Intermittent fasting".

Additionally, exercising while in a fasted state amplifies the effect. I do this everyday. On Saturdays, I even do much longer workouts and can burn over 3,000 Calories in exercise while in a fasted state or around 5,000 total Calories burned at the end of the day resulting to a huge calorie deficit for a few days.

It healed me of my prediabetes and hypertension.

This lifestyle doesn't make you feel hungry all the time, in fact it's the opposite. Suppresses hunger quite effectively.

We know what you do. How about taking these education videos one step at a time for those who don't know?

I don't usually watch educational videos. I Don't trust them! I prefer reading government or academic studies on the subject although I don't trust them 100% either.

None at all. In fact I gained a little bit of muscle because I was also doing power lifting workouts (arms, core, and legs) and calisthenics (arms and upper body) for the last several months. I began the routine of exercising while in a fasted state earlier and then added weight lifting to the routine (also during fasted state) a couple months later.

I did lose a lot of fat though and my body fat % is currently <7% (Navy method).

Ironically, exercising in a fasted state will give better protection from muscle mass loss after the body adapts to the routine from elevated Ketones in the blood and dramatically increased Growth Hormone (GH) secretion. It's only going to be a problem if you have impaired GH production. You can get synthetic GH in that case via doctor's prescription.

A friend of mine, now gone to Jesus, was diabetic. He didn't eat, went into a coma and nearly died. A neighbour was going past the house and saw him collapsed on the porch. She saved his life. One size does not fit all.

I am not an expert, how does this low blood sugar unconsciousness happen? Taking (too much) insulin while fasting?

Sorry about your friend I did often read about fasting doesn't go well with people with diabetes and the warning was often issued by churches if they have an upcoming fasting program.

Although I have prediabetes when I first attempted fasting. I suppose it's not as dangerous to attempt a fast than if I had type 1 or 2 diabetes.

I could deduce if someone had diabetes and did fasting without taking or forgetting to take insulin meds would rapidly turn hypoglycemic or still end up hypoglycemic even with insulin meds if they have high insulin resistance. Collapsing is definitely one of the symptoms of hypoglycemia.

Fasting is probably only good as preventive measure for those who didn't have diabetes or those in the very early stages like "prediabetes".

Fasting is more a spiritual discipline than for health. It has health benefits, but that is not the reason to fast. It puts the body under the control of the spirit, which helps to strengthen the inner man. I've not fasted for a while since I got very ill and I was "nil by mouth" for 5 days in hospital. The dietician told me I was underweight (news to me!) and I risked losing muscle. Since I didn't have a whole lot to lose, I'm on daily meds for heart health and I'm 72, I decided to give fasting a miss.

I'm wary of youtube. There is a vast amount of misinformation. Eat the meat and spit out the bones........ more bones than meat very often.

No, my friend did not deliberately fast. He just failed to check his blood sugar level. He used to carry jelly beans with him just in case. It's easy to lose track. One time he was waiting for a doctor's appointment which was delayed. He had another hypo episode, but this time he was in the best possible place! It's a real balancing act that is most uncomfortable too. Blood tests and injections are no fun several times a day.

Weight loss in general tends to help Type II diabetes, especially in the early stages. If you can lose weight within the first few years of diagnosis, there's a good chance the diabetes will be reversible.

That is usually due to the fact that metformin and other drugs used to control diabetes can cause severe hypoglycemia. You should always inform your doctor if you want to try a severely restricted diet or fasting, if you have diabetes.

This is not true. I agree with the doctors on YouTube more than my primary care physician. They are not trained in metabolic science. Two years ago because of Covid I wanted to improve my health and found that people are reducing their diseases not just Type 2 diabetes from these doctors. The most important thing for geriatrics is exercise, the natural loss, with age, of muscle increases our health problems. Education dude.

False! I've been a diabetic with Type 2 diabetes for 20 years and taking 750 mg of metformin twice a day. I am currently reversing my diabetes for two years now, My A1C went from 7.9 to 6.2 with diet, and still taking metformin. My wife is working on her hypertension. The first year I was strictly on a ketogenic diet and fasted. the second year I incorporated resistant starches. I do not prolong fast for 48 hrs. maybe twice a year and I intermittent fast maybe a couple times a week. I now do resistance training because it's beneficial for longevity in old people.

You always should discuss fasting with your doctor if you have diabetes.

My mom has Type II diabetes and ended up in an emergency room because she was trying fasting without a doctor's supervision.
