1 Wisdom has built her house;
she has carved its seven columns.
2 She has prepared a great banquet,
mixed the wines, and set the table.
3 She has sent her servants to invite everyone to come.
She calls out from the heights overlooking the city.
4 “Come in with me,” she urges the simple.
To those who lack good judgment, she says,
5 “Come, eat my food,
and drink the wine I have mixed.
6 Leave your simple ways behind, and begin to live;
learn to use good judgment.”
Proverbs 9:7-9 reminds me of:
"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." ~Matthew 7:6
This is the "bottom line" of "knowing" God":
I really like this one and find it so encouraging8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. —
Proverbs 9:8
that is so true, it is as if they just make up their mind and nothing will change it!
Amen. Thank you for the encouragement with God's words in this verse. God bless you.I really like this one and find it so encouraging
Amen. Thank you for your love and encouragement. God bless you.Proverbs 9:
Proverbs 9:
This right here is God's own promise and His own prompting of what wisdom is, and where wisdom generates from. And that is from HIM, and through the bottom line of a "right heart" towards Him. And that is the proper "fear of Him". This is the FOUNDATION of a right heart with God, and what is mentioned throughout His Word, as "wise-hearted".

yes, we are back with this phrase, 'fear of the Lord' it seems so important.
I find the thought in Psalm 112: 1
there is reverence for God here, and delight in doing his will.
It is only when God is real to us, and we get to know him, that these feelings and actions start to apply.

wow, that sounds familiar! I may have it on my bookshelf...or in the heaps of books on the floor (chuckle)THIS is GLORIOUSLY true!!! There is a JOY in the "fear of the Lord". A book comes to mind for me called "The Joy of Fearing God" written by a very very wise man named Jerry bridges.
