"...let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith" (Hebrews 12:1, 2, NIV).
It's unbearably painful to know the Bible well, and to understand perfectly the relentless and destructive influence of our fallen nature, yet fail to grow more like Christ as each year rushes past.
If you are a true believer in Christ, don't let particular sins get the better of you. Take a stand against those niggling compromises that will surely bring trouble into your life and lead to spiritual stagnation. Today is the day to overcome your selfish inclinations before they hurt both you and those around you.
Now is the time to fight against anything that would hold you back from following the One Who became sin so that you could freely walk in fellowship with God. It's never too late to turn over every area of your life to Him. Do whatever it takes to make sure nothing comes between you and your Lord.
