This happened to me. I used to listen to all kinds of music(i still do), but when i hit my 20s all of a sudden i felt i am drawn to light jazz and new age music. I was shocked myself to notice it in myself

I don't think my music taste has really changed all that much. I got into metal and progressive rock in my 20s, and that's still the vast majority of what I listen to today. I have started to get into blues lately, although I'm still trying to figure out just what I like, but I wouldn't put that down to having turned 40, instead it's because I've made the transition from CDs to Apple Music, making it far easier (and cheaper!) to acquire new music.
