I have a electronic keyboard, whats the best way to learn this? Not sure I have much talent.

to just have a go at it knowing nothing much, and see what i come up with?

to buy a book on music theory?

to buy a book with music of popular songs?

I did the last years ago, but none of the songs I was really that interested in learning.

I have tried just playing notes, and (in my view) it doesn't sound totally cacophonic, at least for short sequences, because I am just going up an down scales a bit.

Back when I was much younger (about ten years old) I had a basic electronic keyboard, and I really enjoyed back that just playing chords, as it had one key chords.

I suppose I maybe should learn some chords?

Yeah I agree that would be the best route if I was sure that I really want to take the path of becoming proficient at an instrument.

Interesting it was Bruce Hornsby playing piano who inspired me to get the Keyboard out - this song in fact -

Really like this, and would love to be able to play a few bars of it.
