The Admins and Advisors are considering changes for the Life Stages area. These forums would stay the same but may be subtitled in an area called Relationships:

  • Singles
  • Courting Couples
  • Married Couples
  • Parenting
  • Widow/Widowers

These forums will change:

  • Young Adults
  • Roaring Twenties
  • Terrific Thirties
  • Fabulous Forties
  • Golden Eagles 50+

Replace with:

  • GEN Z------------ born 1999 to 2015.
  • MILLENNIALS--- born 1984 to 1998.
  • GEN X ------------ born 1965 to 1983.
  • Golden Eagles-------- born 1946 to 1964 but will include anyone 50 and up as of 2019
There are a few reasons for this. First, this will solve the issue of friends aging out of a given forum that is strictly moderated by age. Second, some forums are not very active as the focus is too limiting, and this may provide more people in each of the subforums participating in the discussions.
As to Golden Eagles, since it has been active, we do not want to change it by cutting out those who are 50 - 54 in 2019 who have been participating there. Therefore, anyone who is 50 and up in 2019 will be able to participate in that forum.

Once the change is made, we will start threads in Gen Z, Millennials and Gen X for suggestions for names for the forums and then do a poll. The members of that forum can select the name they like most.

We plan to leave Teens as it is.

GOOD!!!!!

Though I'd suggest merging teens in with Gen Z, at least for now, bc there are very very very very very few teens who ever join here or stick around. It's super lonely there. I don't think there's gonna be a lot of growth considering how few teens stay. Most of the ppl who reactivate threads are adults way way way beyond our age.

Right now there's just me & Zoii, David, one new girl who is super nice King's Daughter. Go Braves left CF in December, Ella may or may not come back, Idk.Also there was a glitch in your system that caused a lot of confusion about how old u had to be to join here. Bc there had been a young teen section for 13-15 & generally the age to join a social media site is 13 so that's what ppl have thought the age requirement here was. But then it wouldn't let u join if u put in your actual birth yr so ppl just adjusted. Nobody is setting out to be deceptive or anything it's just a matter of genuine confusion + also wanting to protect yourself. Bc predators online prey on younger ppl so u feel more vulnerable. I think the big danger here is the wolf in sheep's clothing thing where ppl seem trustworthy bc they say they're Christians, but they're not & they exploit trust.

Gen Z is sometimes called Zoomers, lol. I think the rest of the names are straightforward. Just keep them as they are so there's not confusion.

I'm glad the staff is making changes!!!!!!

I wish there was a forum in here for everyone. Just an “All Life Stages” forum where we could talk to our older or younger friends, and not be pegged into one age group. I feel like I’m stuck in the married section or the young adults section (although I’m heading for the older adults one soon) and don’t get to just openly talk to all the people I’ve talked to over the last 5+ years.

I think this would create a very active forum, especially if you advertised it in each of the subgroups like this thread was.
