This is just a wee post that might be of use to anyone that needs to remember lots of numbers for any reason (i.e. mathematician, accountant etc.)




The technique involves using all the words that rhyme with each digit from 1-10. Here's a list -

0 (nought) - sought, bought, fought, fraught, caught, distraught, brought

You use the words above to help you remember numbers, especially long ones - for example if you have to remember 907846 you can use the words above to turn this into a more memorable phrase, preferably a rhyme:

The bovine (9) I bought (0 - nought) was given (7) to celebrate (8) the matador's (4) chicks (6)

or if you had 0091435 you could turn it into

I brought (0 - nought) Jill (0 - nil) a feline (9) and said "Here hon (1), this cats roars (4), skis (3) and drives (5)
