What do you consider essential readings for conservative Christians (other than the Holy Bible)?

I think The Ladder of Divine Ascent by St. John Climacus is essential reading for anyone with even an interest in Christianity. If I had my way it would part of the new testament.

Not just for conservative, but for all Christians:

Theodicy - G. W. Leibniz

Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart - J. A. Comenius

Unum Necessarium - J. A. Comenius

The Moment - S. Kierkegaard

Some New Testament Greek textbook, at least the basics.

The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis
The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton
The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton
Ideas Have Consequences by Richard Weaver
The Confessions of St. Augustine
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien (followed by Peter Kreeft's lecture "Language and Beauty in the Lord of the Rings")
The Platonic Tradition by Peter Kreeft (you can actually find this on youtube in a series of lectures, search "Peter Kreeft plato lectures)
Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis (followed by Peter Kreeft's lecture on Till We Have Faces)

That should serve as a start.
