G7 to agree tough measures on burning coal to tackle climate change

The recent G7 summit has set a new tone on Environmental policy as the USA reengage with international efforts on this.

If you are an Arab selling oil or a Russian selling gas there is much to be worried about in the recent pronouncements as the richest countries commit to alternative energies and reductions in usage of fossil fuels. Meanwhile China which by itself accounts for 27% of CO2 outputs was not present and does not look like controlling its outputs any time soon.

How much of this commitment is real and how much posturing?

If for example electric cars require extracts from poverty stricken African countries then how real is the gain from using electric cars as opposed to petrol driven ones. How much is it going to cost to switch off our gas boilers, drive electric cars, stop using plastic, manage our waste and consumption better?

Is this essential or a rich world luxury and burden on poorer nations?

Does the environment really matter or is this window dressing for something else?

Yes, the environment matters. No, it is not window dressing for something else? Now let's deal with it promptly and efficiently, without the stalling tactics of naysayers.

Why would a Christian care? It was made to be subdued,
it is irretrievably corrupt, full of disease and sin.

Besides, God is gonna destroy what's left
and give y'all a shiny new one.
Focus on the world to come, not this dung hill.
