I feel for Mr. Carter and his family. It's the waiting that gets you, and that's what they're doing now. Waiting. Will he live or will he die? Like The Lady, or the Tiger.

My Father had prostate cancer. The docs said 5 years and he died five years later almost to the day. So I know what you mean about the waiting.

I just pray Carter will not be in too much pain. Bless his heart, they say lung cancer is rough.

First serious:
No matter which isle a person sits, we are all humans. I wish cancer on no living thing. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

2nd humerous:

Maybe he didn't take enough of his pills?

Carter's liver pills.

(Now a days, they'd call it homeopathic all natural remedy that large pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know about, back then they called it snake oil remedies.)

Carter is a great human being who was a terrible president. He dedicated his life to the service of others and exemplified the way a Christian should live. He deserves the greatest respect; not because of the four years he spent as president, but because of the way he lived the ideals that others only talk about.

Ironic how the greatest example of how a Christian should live and act turns out to be a mediocre president. Machiavelli was right: Good people make bad leaders, and that's something to keep in mind the next time we call this a "Christian nation."

Although in his defense, he started no wars, invaded no countries, and lost no American lives on his watch. That's called "peace," for those of us who've all but forgotten what that's like.

It turns out his cancer is melanoma, but on the inside instead of the outside. Some of the brain lesions are 2mm. He is going to undergo treatment. (Source: MedPageToday)

I do admire him for not just giving up.

I may not necessarily agree, but I respect the hell out of this viewpoint.

yes, i just read that the cancer has spread to his brain....my heart goes out to him and all of his family.....

I watched the press conference on CNN. He is a true gentleman, and he and hsi family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I wish our other ex-Presidents had done a fraction of the good work that he did after leaving office.
