"Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God." - Psalm 55:19

They do not see God, nor do they believe God. They do not change. They keep on their old ways, their sinful ways, and their worldly ways. These are the ways of vanity, and excess; worthless humor, and downright lewdness.

But "There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky." (Deuteronomy 33:26) Indeed, "He maketh the clouds his chariot, and walketh upon the wings of the wind." (Psalm 104:3) "Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name YAH, and rejoice before him." (Psalm 68:4) And of Yeshua, our Saviour Jesus, "even the wind and the sea obey him." (Matthew 8:27)

Do you look at all these things as natural things, and maybe the Bible is just giving some cute poetic description of what someone might have thought God was like? You know, a lot of people think that way. It's a wrong way, but a lot think it. Yet God, the great Elohim, the 3 as one God, the creator Yahweh most certainly dwells upon the heavens and rides upon them, and upon the clouds. Consider this passage from Psalm 33:4-9,

"For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.
He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast."

I'm especially drawn to verse 6 where it says the LORD made the heavens by His Word, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. Someone explained this as God breathing out stars. He spoke all things into being: the angels, the heavens, the stars and the planets, everything in the Universe. When you get a grasp of this truth by faith you're going to have a change, and you're going to fear this God who is mighty, and not just mighty in His creation, but mighty to save!

Zephaniah 3:17,
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing." Or, as Young's Literal Translation puts it "Jehovah thy God [is] in thy midst, A mighty one doth save, He rejoiceth over thee with joy, He doth work in His love, He joyeth over thee with singing.'
And in Isaiah 63:1, "I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save."

Yahweh, the LORD is mighty to save, and mighty to deliver, and if you do not fear Him now in a good way, you will fear Him later, and it won't be so good then. Sometimes our perception is clouded by the things of this world, and especially the diabolical education teaching evolution and denying creation by a Creator, and denying God. Or, perhaps they believe in "a God" but it's not the God of the Bible, it's some nebulous new age God they can't quite describe, except this alleged being is love, so hence they believe also that love is lust so they call love lust, and therefore they are denying the very Creator who made them and all things!

They have no changes because they fear not God

Sad, so very sad. But someday God will make Himself known clearly to all on earth, and in that day there will be much weeping, and screaming, and wailing, for they have refused to believe in the One who is mighty to save: they have gone their own way, and in the end a dread darkness will overcome them, for they are already overcome by darkness; they have not the light of life, and they change not.

Theirs is the road to hell, the pit, the fiery chasm of blackened brimstone and sulfurous fire; the devouring wyrm that doth not consume, the sting of death full of deadly venom: the untold and indescribably dark and ominous fate of the damned who are condemned forever from the presence of the LORD, for they changed not, nor feared God.

Look up at those stars at night, or the sun by day, and the majestic clouds, and the blue sky, and know behind all that is God: for He made it, and He made you.

Consider a change, for He is able to do that, and to deliver thee from darkness into His wonderful light, with joy unspeakable, full of glory.

John 1:1-3,
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

1 John 5:7,
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

Oh yes, JESUS is the Word, and it is by Jesus all things were created, as the Psalm says; does it not declare, "By thy word they were created"? Amen!

Colossians 1:9-19,
" For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell"

Oh there must surely be a change if you are to see the kingdom of heaven. You cannot see God in the flesh, and in an unregenerate, unconverted state.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

(2 Corinthians 5:17)

Man, I made a post about changes also, just yesterday. Don't forget Joshua 1:9 and Isaiah 43:18 as well. :) But yes, we must accept change in our lives as Christians, so that we may make changes to follow Christ and repent of our past ways.

VerseJoshua 1:9 (ESV): "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Isaiah 43:18 (ESV): "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past."
ExplanationJoshua 1:9 is a command from God to Joshua, as he was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after the death of Moses. The verse emphasizes the importance of being strong and courageous, and not being frightened or dismayed despite the challenges they would face. God reassures Joshua that He will be with them wherever they go, providing comfort and guidance in the midst of uncertainty.
Isaiah 43:18, on the other hand, is a call from God to His people to forget the past and focus on the future. This verse comes in the context of God's redemption and restoration of Israel after their exile in Babylon. By urging them to forget the former things, God is encouraging them to move on from their past mistakes and hardships, trusting that He will make all things new.
Both passages relate to accepting change and not worrying about the future in several ways:
  1. Trusting God's Presence: Joshua 1:9 reminds us that no matter what challenges we face, God is with us. This gives us the strength and courage to move forward in faith, even when we are uncertain about the future. Similarly, Isaiah 43:18 encourages us to trust God's redemptive work in our lives and to focus on today, rather than dwelling on past regrets or mistakes.
  2. Embracing Change: Both passages also remind us that change is a part of life, whether it be leading a people into a new land or experiencing God's redemptive work in our lives. Joshua was called to lead the Israelites into a new territory, and they had to adapt to new challenges and circumstances. Similarly, Isaiah's call to forget the past and focus on the future implies that God was making new things happen in their lives. In the 21st century, we face constant change in our personal lives and in the world around us.
  3. Letting Go of Regret: Isaiah 43:18 specifically calls us to forget the former things and not dwell on the past. In the context of our lives, this means letting go of regrets, mistakes, and negative experiences that can weigh us down and hinder our growth. Instead, we are encouraged to focus on the present, trusting that God is working in our lives for good. For example, someone who is stuck in regret can be encouraged to trust God's forgiveness and mercy. Similarly, someone facing a major life change, can be reminded to trust God's presence and guidance in the new situation, even if it is uncertain or intimidating. Ultimately, both Joshua 1:9 and Isaiah 43:18 remind us that God is faithful and present in all things, and that we can trust Him to lead us through the challenges and changes of life.
