Back about 40-yrs ago, a successful author and minister of the AOG was coming to town to speak primarily to Christian men, the speaker Edwin Louis Cole. Having an impression to attend, I made the date. Founder of the CMN (Christian Men’s Network), Ed Cole's, early work included street ministry as well as, having an active role in the Angelus Temple of renowned Aimee Semple McPherson.
By the time he came to speak that day, his book: Maximized Manhood, had already taken off world-wide. I failed to retrieve any recordings of his speech, but one thing I have retained over the years from that day was his appeal to men to take the brunt of life for others, especially, women, furthermore, women of abuse. At the close of service, the assembly had fallen into a spirit of responsiveness to his words to bare others up, dozens gathering at the altar as well as Cole himself all wept strong to become the guilty. Quite Moving.
