Yeah, it seems that there was more research done long ago (1950s) according to Noah's Ark Scans website that showed the same thing as the 2023 article, but this was recent. Hopefully the archeologists actually start digging here, which they are starting to do now.

I agree. The Daily Mail is sensationalism and is tabloid stuff, so I should have checked Popular Mechanics' sources. Sorry about this. Let this be a lesson to me and others, that even Popular Mechanics and other science magazines fall for the tabloids. No offense to the UK, but they basically got this tabloid stuff up and running. Luckily, the UK has the BBC. The much more trustworthy BBC kinda compensates for the country's tabloid junk.

I think the flood was local, and I offer that whole region being a desert now as only partial evidence.

But I do think that if people look at the archeological and geological records in that region for evidence of a much more local flood in that region, they will find plenty.

We know that whole region was very, very fertile at one point in time, etc.

Wheras it's not now, and that that happened rather quickly, etc.

It is my belief that it was meant to almost completely wipe out almost all of the original descendants of Adam and Eve, who settled in that region after Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, etc. It is my belief that they were a specially created race, and maybe even perhaps species, from the rest, etc.

They were supposed to build a society or nation to rule over the rest, and not have sexual relations with them, because this has always been God the Spirit's plan that He was always trying to enact in the OT, etc, even after many, many "speedbumps" along the way, He was still trying, etc.

But after Jesus, He handed that plan over to Jesus, which is supposed to finally be brought forth, or will come into full fruition, when He comes back, etc.

In the meantime we all wait, etc.

But the flood mainly happened due to God the Holy Spirit's anger and heartache and disappointment and heartbreak, probably still left over from the original fall a little bit, but also over the possible inter-species sex that started happening between the original descendents of Adam and Eve, and maybe another, lesser species or race that was in the earth at that time, etc.

Yet again God the Holy Spirit's original plans were being mucked up or fouled with or messed up by the disobedience of His other beings, etc.

It would become a continual repeating story or trend all along the way, etc.

Current scientific evidence agrees with this view which is also shared by most Christian scientists. There may have been some significant local flooding.

Marine fossils on mountain tops are not unusual. They get there when interaction between tectonic plates causes massive uplift at the plate junctions. If the area uplifted was once an ocean floor, then marine fossils end up at the top of mountains.

Alternative views were rare and socially or legally risky. It was probably the scientific boom in the late 19th and 20th centuries which called literal aspects of the Bible into question. In turn this opened up the acceptability of non-belief.

Most likely, the floods were localized to small areas in the Middle East, and due to the changing climates at the end of the glaciation period around 10,000 years ago. Any newer floods would have also been localized.

Scientific evidence totally rejects the idea of a global flood, the practicality of a biblical Ark and the death of all humans and animals, apart from those in the Ark.

I'm not sure which aspects of the Bible story you think are supported by your article.
