I have been studying Orthodoxy and theosis rather in depth lately as I am somewhat interested in joining the Orthodox Church.

I found it interesting that Lutherans have a doctrine similar to theosis called Mystical Union:

Weedon's Blog: A Primer on Mystical Union

Protestantism has the doctrine too, mostly coming from the holiness movement but in a truncated form. Two stages instead of three in EO and RCC. The EO understands it further as healing which l agree with. Not a process of healing, but actual full healing taking place in the soul for this is why sin occurs.

To say that it is just a process without a result is to agree with the other churches understanding of gradual sanctification.

The video failed to say that deification means that man becomes holy. Scriptures denies that we can be part holy, it talks about the impossibility of clean and polluted water coming out of the same source.

It means to be without sin and is what some fathers taught, not all of them. Sorry l cannot cut and paste ATM.
