Peace in Christ.

God sent His Son into this world so that this world that we are living in might be saved through Him.

We are not to be taken from this world by mortal death but remain here alive and be kept from the evil of this world…..unto the end of this age.

Mat 24:13
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end (of this age), the same shall be saved.

Whosoever believes into Him should not perish (mortally die) from this world but will have “everlasting life”….that is, an age-lasting life.

By our faith (and faith is active) in Him, we shall not mortally die but shall continue to live to the very end of this present evil age that we are living in.

John 3:14-17
(14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
(15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal (AGE-LASTING) life.
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We are to keep His “daily” sacrifice in our mortal bodies (ALWAYS bearing about in the body the dying of our Lord Jesus) so that the life of Jesus might be made manifest in our bodies…in our mortal flesh. We are to die to the sin daily.

2Co 4:10-11 KJV
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

We are to slay the sin from ruling over us. IF we through the Spirit (that has been given to us) do slay the deeds of the body, our mortal bodies shall live…..an age-lasting life. This enables us to keep standing here mortally in this earth until the redemption of the mortal body.

Rom 8:10-14 KJV
(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

And at the very end of this present evil age…at the last trump, we who are “alive and remain” in our mortal bodies shall then be completely redeemed: this mortal body putting on immortality.

1Co 15:51-55 KJV
(51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

When this event comes, then we shall have completely circumvented mortal death in Christ. We shall the have achieved victory over death and the graven through Him.

(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

We have His Spirit (by which we slay sin with ) so that we continue to live in this earth (having an age-lasting life that was promised) until the redemption of the purchased possession (our mortal bodies being changed over to immortal).

Eph 1:13-14 KJV
(13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

But the scoffers will come forth when they hear the good news of our mortal salvation and question “where is the promise of His coming”? Where is this age-lasting life of Jesus who was sent into this world so that this world might be saved for all before us have mortally died just like all men have since the beginning of creation?

They do not realize (and are forgetful of past examples laid out for us in the Scriptures) that they are still under the wrath of God…under His judgment… where they are mortally perishing because of their sins. They have not crossed over from death unto life. They deny the Lord that bought them....they do not preach the age-lasting life ....the good news of our mortal body's salvation (the redemption of the purchased possession)

Their judgment does not linger nor does their destruction/perdition does not sleep. They are the “son of perdition” that destroys all of those who are deceived by them and go to their gatherings…their “churches”. They defile the mortal flesh of those who attend their gatherings….just like one bad apple rots the whole group.

2Pe 2:1-3 KJV
(1) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
(2) And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
(3) And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

And all people who go sit together with them (the false prophets together are as one man: the son of perdition) are giving themselves over to “fornication” as they become “one body” and “one flesh” with them in their destruction. They defile our mortal flesh.

They are mortally being destroyed along with them suffering the vengeance of “eternal fire”….that is, an age-lasting fire…as they do NOT inherit an age-lasting life that they should have had in Christ.

They instead sought to go the “churches” of the false prophets who are being mortally destroyed and where they are preaching false teachings and are not preaching the true gospel of our mortal salvation.

Jud 1:7-8 KJV
(7) Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
(8) Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Remember how the people who were saved out of the land of Egypt were destroyed afterward because of unbelief.

Jud 1:5 KJV
(5) I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

They follow in the footsteps of Judas ( who is the GUIDE TO THEM NOW that takes Jesus) as they come to take away Jesus (the keeping of His “daily” sacrifice) out of the lives that they are deceiving. The promised age-lasting life (“eternal life”) of Jesus is never made manifest in the mortal flesh of those who go keep company with them and where the keeping of His "daily" sacrifice has ceased.
.
Act 1:16-20 KJV
(16) Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
(17) For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

They have purchased a field with the reward of iniquity. This “field” is a “field of blood” as the people they are deceiving are not being fed the Word of Truth…the good news of their mortal salvation…and they mortally perish from this earth. They “fall headlong”…that is, they rush headlong after money because it is profitable to deceive those they are preaching to. They “burst asunder”….that is, they do not really care for those they are deceiving. Their “bowels gush out”…that is, mercy on those they deceive has completely disappeared from their hearts.

(18) Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

“Aceldama” = corresponds to “chêleq” – meaning “smoothness or flattery” (of the tongue) and “dâm” - blood (as that which when shed causes death) of man or an animal.

Their flattering tongues deceive those that mortally perish.

(19) And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

Their “habitation”….their church…is desolate. The glory of God is not there. No man dwells therein….they all mortally perish.

(20) For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

It has been a field of blood where those who are deceived by them mortally perish without the age-lasting life of Jesus being made manifest in their mortal bodies.

This corresponds with Zechariah 11. The false prophets who are following the guide of Judas are feeding the “flock of the slaughter” being pastored by those who “slay them” as they rejoice “blessed by the LORD for I am rich”. They have “burst asunder” and their “bowels gush out”….meaning their pastors (shepherds) do not pity those they slay and they hold themselves not guilty for doing so.

Zec 11:4-5 KJV
(4) Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

(5) Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

The title of the thread appears to be related to 2 Thess 2

2 Thess 2:Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 6 And you know what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is removed. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

Other translations for vs 3

NKJV -
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

KJV - 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
