Both the USSR and the People's Republic of China received massive support from socialists and socialist parties in the United States.

Long term ACLU director and leading proponent of humanism in America Corliss Lamont thought the Soviets were socialists. So did the grandfather of American publican education: John Dewey. In the UK we saw George Bernard Shaw and his fabian socialists endorse both Mao and Stalin. In the 1980s when the KGB funded massive "peace" protests in Western Europe, the socialist parties lined up to join the parade. Today we see socialists in A.N.S.W.E.R. praise North Korea and Cuba.

Not so easy to escape the crimes of socialism in the 20th century by merely defining socialism not to include the regimes which committed those crimes.

But back to the OP. Both the NCC and WCC have been and funded by those who are (pick one or several) not Christian, are marxist materialists and oppose Christian ethics and morality.

Social justice is fine. It is a part of Christian teachings. But can a organization with Christian in its name accept money from those who oppose Christian teachings across the board?

I don't think we will lose the Whitehouse... I fear we will end up with a more liberal Republican than Bush... Bush is not a true conservative either...

Socialism has failed miserably every time it has been tried... why promote/embrace a failed system??

Socialism hasn't been tried in its fullest sense anywhere. And I don't care if some group thought the USSR was socialist, it wasn't. Neither the British Labour Party, nor a majority of European socialist parties regarded the USSR (or China) as socialist.

For one thing they both called themselves Communist which is very different from socialism, but for another they centralised and imposed, which socialism does not.

The British Labour Party is a Democratic Socialist party, and has been since its inception in 1901.

They died because of ther deception, that is clear in the passage which states that the proceeds were at their disposal. They were under no obligation to turn it over. But they turned over a partial amount and claimed it was the total amount. The passage is clear and cannot be spun at your whim.
