Nope, not going to. Why? Because what I am doing is not sin. I am deceiving no one nor is that my intention. If someone is deceived that's their own fault because they took an avatar seriously when they shouldn't. It is an avatar of a female elf. I am not parading around that I am female and a quick look at my profile would show that I am male which anyone can do.

Your obsession with this is unhealthy!

Talk about it with your girlfriend and or family and or your pastor and see what they say. If you don't do so, this means you are simply afraid that they may something bad. This means that what you are doing is not entirely innocent if you don't talk it over with others.

Getting back on topic of God's Word being an instruction manual:

I like what this Christian author said.

When a manufacturer makes a machine it also provides an instruction manual on how to operate the machine. When God made man he also gave an instruction manual telling how man was designed to be operated. The Bible. It is the book of instructions written by the designer and manufacturer telling man how he was designed to be operated. It is the instruction manual for the heart, soul and mind of man. What happens when you disregard the instructions in an instruction manual? You have trouble --- things go awry. When you follow God's instruction manual, everything works right and you have spiritual health, happiness and mental stability; when you disregard the instructions you have confusion, frustration, unhappiness, emotional imbalance and mental disarray.

Talk about it with your girl friend and or family

You assume that I haven't?

Been talking to my girlfriend all morning about this conversation of ours. She thinks you have serious issues. Talked with my partner here at work. He agrees with me and he used to build websites for a living and do other IT related things and he's a Christian.
Just asked my step-dad, he also agrees with me.

You would be right if I set my gender as female in my profile and pretended to be female. This is not the case. I haven't hidden the fact that I am male. If asked, I say I am male.

Wow. I have serious issues? I am just following what the Bible says, dear sir.
Did you talk with your pastor about this?

I have not talked to my priest, about this particular thing, no. I can call him though if you'd like me to? I'm guessing he'll agree with me too.

Has the thought crossed your mind that maybe you are wrong?

Yes, I am curious to see what he says, but now I would not be surprised if you he would agree with you. For if you were to do a basic internet search, you can discover that there are episcopal churches in existence that are liberal. It would not surprise me if you attended one.

Do you consider yourself to be a liberal Christian?

You said:

That would be like saying, “am I wrong about how murder is wrong?”
So no. That would be insane. People just see what they want to see in life (despite what the Bible says). Men are into catering into what they want and not what God desires.

Oh, and it's also a false accusation to say I have serious issues when this is not the case. Just because I am radical in my following God's Word does not mean I have serious issues. Your girlfriend is wrong for saying that, and she should apologize. My Christian wife, and fellow brethren at work do not believe I have serious issues. They can testify for my many years in loving them in Christ. I love God and them. I have a passion for God and His Word. I am at peace with God and trust in His grace and love Him and I love others. Then again, Jesus said we would be accused falsely.

I consider myself to be more middle than either left or right, agreeing with some liberal things and some conservative things and disagreeing with both at times.

So no. That would be insane.

No, not really. I think you are taking what you read and are taking it further than God intended. I do not dress up like a woman, I do not act like a woman nor do I pretend to be. I just have a female elf as an avatar and when asked, I tell people I am a male and just the elf in my avatar is my favorite character in the Hobbit movie.

No she shouldn't and she isn't the only one who I have talked to about your obsession with this who has said you have issues.

I am not talking about politics. I am talking about one's approach towards the Bible. Some take a more liberal approach to God's Word, and others take a more radical and or direct approach.

Yet, people can be confused that you are a woman. My own testimony proves that. I know others have most likely thought the same thing. So why put people into a temporary state of confusion about your gender identity? It's not nice in my opinion.

As for the Hobbit film:

Fantasy has become an idol here in America. I know. I could not see it until I put my secular fantasy movie watching away out of my life. I tried to overlook the sinful things in popular big budget fantasy films like Marvel movies, and Star Trek, the Lord of the Rings, and James Bond, etc.; But I decided that following Jesus and His good ways was more important than the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

Yes, I do not have serious issues. My own wife and Christian friends can testify to this. So those you have talked with who said “he has serious” issues are accusing me falsely (Which is what Jesus said would happen).

Just because I am radical for God's Word does not mean I have serious issues, friend. That is just wrong to say this. Then again, there will be a judgement and all things will be revealed one day. So one day you will know your girlfriend and or those you know were wrong to accuse me falsely like this.

Maybe, just maybe and I have said this to you before, God pointed it out as a sin to you because you were making it your idol. I have not done any such thing. It's a fictional movie and the one character is my favorite character. I don't obsess about her or the movies.

As for the Bible, some things are to be taken literally, some things not so much and some things were for that time and place and are not meant for today.

The Bible tells us this:

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides for ever.” (1 John 2:15-17).

You said:

The question I am asking is do you fall under what Evangelical Christians would label as liberal?
Do you believe in Theistic Evolution or an Old Earth?
Do you think the story of Jonah was just a fairy tale or metaphor?
Do you think hell is a metaphor and or not real?
Do you believe in Christian yoga?
Do you believe God does not care if Christians celebrate Halloween?
Do you tend to just lump all of God's commands into two commands and yet you really do not give it much thought for your daily life?
Can Christians use bad language and not repent of it and still be saved?
Can Christians touch to porn and not repent of it, and still be saved?
Note: When I say that Christians need to repent I am saying that they need to seek forgiveness of their sins with the Lord Jesus Christ. This then naturally leads to the fruits of repentance, which is to: Forsake such sins and battle to overcome them in this life.

I talked with him and he disagrees with you as well on the avatar thing. Says you are blowing it out of proportion. I mentioned my girlfriend to him and what she said and what you said and he said that is up to her to decide, but that he doesn't see a reason why she should have to apologize. It is her opinion of the situation and they way you are reacting and replying to me.

He also said the same thing that I did. That you are taking the scripture to far and that I have not sinned in using that avatar. He did say that maybe I should maybe I should put that I am male in my signature so that people such as yourself don't do as you have done and accused me of wrong doing.

So, I have done what you said and they have all agreed with me. Will you drop it now? Especially, if I put in my signature that I am a male?

Yes, I believe in repentance, but some of the things that you mentioned I do not agree with our sin and need to be repented of. I believe Jonah was literal, I believe in a real hell, I believe in evolution and that God started evolution, so I guess that is considered theistic evolution. I believe that Christians can do Yoga, yes as it is only stretching and they aren't doing it to worship anything or call on anything. I am fine with Halloween and allow my kids to dress up in their favorite character. I rarely curse myself and will only do so if I stub my toe or something like that. When I do it I ask for forgiveness. No, you cannot touch to porn and not repent of it. Yes, all of God's commands can be lumped into the two greatest commandments and I do try to live by those commandments day in and day out.

So, as I said, I consider myself middle of the road.

@Bible Highlighter what you are seeing is that we are two different Christians and we disagree on some things and actually agree on others. We are not going to agree on everything as we are both interpreting the Bible differently with various scriptures.

I am about to disengage from the conversation because it isn't fruitful at all. It's becoming circular.

I understand, and I agree that we should agree to disagree at this point.

May God's love shine upon you today (even if we disagree on certain things in God's Holy Word).

I do agree with your position that the Bible is an instruction manual. I said that in another thread and you agreed with me.

Yes, I agree. The Bible is an instruction manual.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 and many other verses makes this fact obvious.
In fact, the point that God gives us commands within the Bible proves that it is an instruction manual.
