The glory of God is supposed to rise upon us…His people. All nations are to see His glory upon us…and to come running to us.
Isa 60:1-3 KJV
(1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
(2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
(3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
But this has not happened yet for His people have exchanged the glory of God that is to be seen upon us for/into images of man.
They have exchanged that glory (their glory) for their “images”…their church handwritings that do not profit them. The handwritings of ordinances are patterned like the outside world’s who do not know God and the outside people of the earth are like the beasts of the earth. All have sinned in this and have fallen short of the glory of God
Rom 1:22-23 KJV
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
They worship and serve the “creature”….that is, the formation/fabrication/ordinance…more than the Creator. They keep and serve their fabrication of the product of man’s hand….the church scribes' handwriting of ordinances.

(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Again, the “abomination of desolation” is the church scribes’ handwritings of ordinances/dogmas found inside every gathering where they worship God….found standing in the holy (set apart) place where it ought not be found.
A handwriting….the product of man’s hand....causes the glory of God to depart from that gathering leaving it “desolate”. Hence, the “desolation”.
The glory of God is not currently seen upon any of the man-based denominational churches where they are keeping and serving their images…their handwritings. His glory is not there as it has departed leaving them “desolate”.

(15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand).
His people have changed their glory (the glory of God that is supposed to arise and appear upon them) for that (the handwriting of ordinances) which does not profit them. They instead choose to keep and serve their church handwritings…the lifeless fabrication of man’s hand.

(11) Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
Those who are leaders among His people are to be astonished at the realization of this and horribly afraid and be very “desolate”.
(12) Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
Our exalted leaders (the “heavens”) are to astonished and horribly afraid when they see the “handwriting”….just as king Belshazzar was.
Dan 5:5-6 KJV
(5) In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
(6) Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
His people made a “calf” in Horeb. “Horeb” means “desolate”….as it causes the glory of God to depart leaving it that way. The “calf” is the church handwriting of ordinances that the scribes have made for their “church” to keep and serve. They are “molten”…rigid ordinances that are fundamental principles that do not change for their church.
Psa 106:19-20 KJV
(19) They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
But it causes the glory of God to depart from them…..leaving that church “desolate”. Their “ox”…their handwriting of ordinances…destroys those who worship and serve it. It “eats/burns up grass”…that is, it destroys our mortal flesh which is as the “grass”. It defiles our mortal flesh.
(20) Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
All flesh is as grass. Let us not serve the “glory of man” who bows down to his own handwritings and withers away.

(24) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
The commandments and doctrines of men (contained in their handwritings of ordinances) cause us to mortally perish. They are lifeless...like stone or wood. They do not profit….they do nothing beneficial for our mortal flesh.

(20) Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
(21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
(22) Which all are to perish with the using) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
(23) Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
God has “gave them up”…those who are serving and worshipping their church handwritings… to their uncleanness to dishonor their own mortal bodies between themselves. This is why we must not sit together with them in their man-based churches or we become “one flesh” with them in their mortal destruction for their sin. This is why we must come out from among them who are doing such things and be separate.

The "elements" ...the founding first principles contained in the handwriting of ordinances...burn us up when we keep and serve them. They do nothing to keep us mortally alive but do just the opposite.
we are not to make to ourselves handwritings of ordinances. They are "idols"...images. They are "graven images" made with the pen of the church scribes. They are "standing images" in the church as they do not move from there. Yet, there they are found where people are bowing down to them as they are highly revered. They are being kept and served and worshipped more than the LORD our God....our Judge. Those who serve them use them to "judge" themselves and others with instead of letting our Judge and Lawgiver do that.
