You must be joking ^_^??!!! Aren't you the one who put the title on this thread?

Man who crashed U-Haul truck near White House had Nazi flag in vehicle

The use of the words "Nazi flag" carries alot of implications here.
Sorry, you had to have been joking and me like an idiot fell for it. Just disregard my first thoughts and carry on .

Really, it doesn't. A Nazi symbol (in this case a flag) indicates alignment with Nazism, there is more to nazi ideology than racial supremacy and the suspect in this particular event told us (or rather federal law enforcement) what it was about Nazis that he liked. It's literally in earlier posts in this fairly short thread as is a discussion of the distinction between Nazi and white supremacy.

I am not a psychologist, but the tender years and the “plan” to storm the White House and be installed as ruler would seem to indicate a rather serious bout of schizophrenia.
Outliers aren’t trends.

I was going by the nazi flag. Remember that mall shooter recently? He wasnt white per se, but was fully enamored of white supremacist / nazi ideology. Maybe its like that white professor who wanted so badly to be black - except she didnt want to kill people.
I think the problem is your biased view of "who can be a nazi" or otherwise idealize nazi or fascist beliefs.

There's latino nazis...

Black nazis....

Asian nazis....
Zomg_hot_asian_nazis.jpg

And so on...all believe in their own racial superiority, typically hate Jewish people, and desire a racial ethnostate.

I'm not trying to make your head explode though....if white nazis are all you can comprehend, you go ahead and run with this "be wanted to be white" story....it's always good for a laugh.

The definition of "white supremacy" is pretty simple. It isn't changing. (Are you having problems with other terms like "nazism" or "violence"?)

Here's a simple "white supermacy" algorithm:

* Do you think that "white people" exist and are superior to "non-white people"?
* if YES, then you are a white supremacist
* if NO, then you are not.

Since we don't know how this suspect would answer those questions, we just don't know. We also don't know him to be part of a known group with white supremacist ideology, so we can't even guess.

(And yes, there are people who identify as "non-white" who think "white people" are superior. Not sure why, but there are. I think it is some sort of psychological inferiority complex.)

Would a black person who thinks black people exist and are superior to other races "black supremacists"?

Would latino or Hispanic people who believe latino or Hispanic people are superior to other races "latino supremacists"?

Are Asian people who believe Asian people exist and are superior to other races Asian supremacists?

I think this is a fair question because honestly, your definition is new to me....I always associated white supremacists with the desire of a white ethnostate.

Nobody in this thread has suggested such a thing.
The media initially jumped on that narrative, the same day Biden declared "white Supremacy" and "far right extremists" (which he always connects to Trump, to distract from his bad policies) as the major threat to America.

CNN:
“And I think you have to draw a line from this apparent attack on the White House by someone bearing a Nazi flag to at least some of the people, it’s hard to say how many, but some of the people involved in the January 6th attack on the Capitol,”“How do we know that? Because some of those folks were carrying the same sort of symbols, Nazi flags, Confederate flags, things like that, that show you a commonality of ideology,” he added." CNN’s Andrew McCabe said. "This is the number one terrorist threat, domestic violent extremists and and particularly the extremists motivated by the anti-black racial sentiments."

Watch it yourself. Link included.

"Following the altercation, he was arrested and “charged with threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on a president, vice president or family member, as well as assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, trespassing and destruction of federal property,” according to the New York Post.

But then something extraordinary happened — prosecutors dropped every single charge, leaving Kandula with nothing but “a single count of depredation of property of the United States in excess of $1,000,” the Post notes."

Oops.

Of COURSE they did. Do you REALLY think they would be able to be successful with those charges given the mental state of the individual involved?

Of COURSE not.

Do you think, given what we've heard from and about this guy that there was ANY chance of conviction?

Mental health is amazing right?

Are we not supposed to believe his own words?
Out of respect, we're supposed to affirm whatever he claims. If he claims he was trying to assassinate a sitting U.S. president, that's what he should be charged with. However, he doesn't fit the MAGA profile, so.....

"His federal charges have since been downgraded to a single count of depredation of property of the United States in excess of $1,000.

Prosecutors told the court Kandula is not a US citizen" White House U-Haul ramming suspect Sai Kandula jailed until next week, charges downgraded

Once again, the double-standard of justice is being employed.

You mean not being white, not being a Trump supporter, and yet intended to kill the president and seize power (insurrection)???
No, of course he'd never be convicted.

Come on though. You know prosecutors are only going to pursue cases that they think they can be successful with. He was CHARGED with those things by the police but one look at the case and accused and prosecutor's themselves made the call. A 19year old who thinks he's going to be president who recorded all his cool ideas in his "greenbook", will require a psych assessment and then the trial is done.

I don' see a double standard. I see it as appropriately utilizing expensive resources.

And yet Jan. 6th protesters with Trump flags were charged with insurrection because the prosecutors knew the political climate in Washington DC would make for an easy conviction of anyone seen as a Trump supporter. But a guy who isn't a US citizen, and isn't white, who actually said he intended to kill the president gets off easy.

Absolutely a double standard.

But that's *NOT* what happened. He has never been charged with terrorism, or attempted assassination, or any other similar thing. The "assassination" claims comes from from his interview with the USSS and it is presumably still under investigation.

Here's what actually happened:

1. He was arrested on the scene by US Park Police (as he was in US Park Service territory).
2. He was interrogated by the US Secret Service while his trunk and possessions were searched.
3. A USSS agent then went to here computer and typed up a complaint against him for the one thing he'd very obviously done: felony damage of US Government property.
4. The agent then went to the Pettyman Courthouse down Pennsylvania Avenue, by the Capitol, and swore out the complaint before a US Magistrate Judge, who then issued a warrant for arrest.

5. The suspect was then formally arrested on the property damage crime and taken before same judge for an initial appearance. He was ordered detained until a formal hearing on May 30th.

The full docket of the case is located at:

United States v. KANDULA, 1:23-mj-00153 - CourtListener.com

I feel that I can say with some confidence that this person is being thoroughly investigated and a grand jury is likely involve with search warrants for his home, phone, phone records, social media accounts, and financials. His closest family and associates are being interviewed by the FBI, etc.

If they find evidence to support the more serious charges then they will take it to that same grand jury for indictment as such.

But what happened to simply throwing around words like "insurrection", and "right-wing extremist conspiracy theory terroristic MAGA Trump supporting, etc."? And this guy even had a flag! Just like the protesters did on Jan. 6th, except this one wasn't an American flag with the word "Trump" on it. This one was a Nazi flag, so maybe that helped.

But seriously, have we learned nothing at all from Jan. 6th?

Exactly how schizophrenic and dillusional were JAn 6 protestors?

All I can think is that if ALL those protestors being charged had the same GLARING mental health issues as this man, then they had THE worst attorneys in the entirety of the United States.

Again, still no double standard.

Why don't you address the impact of mental in this circumstance?

Are you suggesting that protesters storming the capital on Jan. 6th to "overthrow an election" and take power were mentally stable and not dillusional?
