lost again

I think this was the lead pirate (M.C. Gainey):

He's not credited as being on Lost on IMDB though.

Maybe I missed an old episode or something, but did Hurley and Walt meet before getting on the airplane? They looked as though they knew each other.

No, I think Hurley appreciated Walt's choice of entertainment on the flight (Gameboy SP)

Did anyone see the GMA scene? What was it about? Anything worth knowing? Tell!
It showed further details as to why Claire refused to give her baby a name. She was afraid of losing him, and she felt that giving him name would have made the loss more painful.

So she was hesitating.

I'm frustrated that they didn't even answer one question for us.

And, even though we knew it was coming, I'm disappointed that the Hobbit found a lifetime supply of smack.

Loved the final flashback montage.
Sure they did, the "other" are pirates.

Now that a week has passed, do any of you have any new comments based on rewatching your taped copy of the season finale or reading stuff on other webpages?
My wife picked up on this.

Saywer was singing Redemption Song, by Bob Marley. Note the lyrics

REDEMPTION SONG [Bob Marley]

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.

But my hand was made strong
By the 'and of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.
---
/Guitar break/
---
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.
Won't you help to sing
Dese songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever had:
Redemption songs -
All I ever had:
Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom.

He wasn't looking in the hatch at that point.

Huh? What was he looking in then? I swear he was banging on the hatch, screaming at the island and at his father, when the light came on.

Nothing. He never reacted when the light came on. He had his head almost between his knees.

He's not credited as being on Lost on IMDB though.

Your links not working for me, but since it was an IMDB perusal that prompted this post I'll add, he's listed now.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/guests
"Bearded Man" in the guest list for part two of "Exodus."

And great catch btw. Since I don't normally watch "cool" shows, I didn't catch Greg Grunberg of Alias as the pilot in "Pilot", nor did I catch Mira Furlan of Babylon 5 fame. I even had no idea that my favorite character, Terry "Qui-Gon" O'Quinn was involved in Buffy. Oh, and since I'd never watched Oz, I had no idea about Harold Perrineau.

I did, however catch Michelle Rodriguez - who I have never seen any of her movies, but recognized her anyway, and Zack Ward, best known to me from "A Christmas Story" and "Titus."

On quick aside about metareferance casting before I get to why I'm posting this. Have any of you ever watched Hong Kong Kung Fu period movies? If you're familiar with the genre, are you familiar with Shaw Brothers, or specifically Run Run Shaw?

In 1978, Shaw studios produced "Master Killer" about a young student "San Te" who, after witnessing the brutality of the Manchu invasion of China goes to Shaolin and trains to become a monk. Despite the attrocious dubbing, the movie is both one of my favorites, and one of the best I've watched. The star was Gordon Liu who, in an act of homage, Quentin Tarantino cast as one of the assasins in Kill Bill Vol. 1 and as Uma's trainer Pai Mei in Vol. 2. Very cool...

Anyway, like I said, I was checking out IMBD and they have the guest cast list for the first episode of season two. What I read has convinced me to avoid any and all references to Lost on the Internet until next season starts airing. For those of you between 29 and 45, I'll just say 3 words - Angus Scrimm - Phantasm.
