“It is appointed unto men once to die”…..but after this is the judgment. The judgment starts with the house of God….His people.

This statement (“It is appointed unto men once to die”) is about the sacrifice of Christ who ONCE died for us all. He put away by the sacrifice of Himself…..and now we, His people, are all judged.

Heb 9:26-28 KJV
(26) For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
(27) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
(28) So Christ
was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The time IS COME (after His sacrifice for us)that this judgment must begin at the house of God.

This judgment upon the house of God is the period of “1000 years”. It is not a literal thousand years but a space of time according to God’s determination to judge His people….judgment had started at the house of God and is still ongoing. He is not willing that any man (in the house of God) perish (mortally perish) but come to repentance.

1Pe 4:17-18 KJV
(17) For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
(18) And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

The condemnation comes upon those of the house of God who have not believed in the name (authority) of the ONLY begotten Son of God (in contrast to the authority of “another” son….another jesus as preached by the false prophets).

They do not receive His knowledge (the Light) but love the darkness instead…they love to “sleep” rather than be “awake” to His righteousness. Satan and his ministers have the power to deceive those who have fallen “asleep” to His righteousness.

Joh 3:18-19 KJV
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

While men of the house of God “sleep”, the enemy has sown the “tares” among them “unawares”.

The attack of Satan against the house of God does not come from the collective efforts of the outside world…the nations of the world… but comes from within the house of God as the children of the wicked (the tares) have crept in unawares and lead many astray.

Mat 13:25-30 KJV
(25) But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
(26) But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
(27) So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
(28) He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
(29) But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

The 1000 years are up at the harvest of His people....separating the wheat from the tares in His house.

(30) Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Satan has been prevented from attacking the house of God (during the 1000 years) from the collective effort of nations of the outside world (deceiving them into doing so) for the judgment period (1000 years) of the house of God. Satan has been bound a thousand years (the season of the judgment of the house of God) from deceiving the outside nations around us from attacking us.

Rev 20:1-3 KJV
(1) And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
(2) And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
(3) And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Instead, that attack comes from within.

Mat 10:36 KJV

(36) And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

For certain men (the “tares”) have crept in “unawares”….while men “sleep” (asleep to His righteousness)…and have turned the grace of our God into lasciviousness and are denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jud 1:3-5 KJV
(3) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
(4) For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Those of the house of God who do not truly believe are being destroyed because of them as we are led astray by the false prophets unto our mortal destruction…..just as He destroyed the unbelievers among His people whom He saved out of Egypt.

(5) I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

The false prophets (who come to capture and destroy those who fall “asleep”) come preaching “another jesus”….the “son” of their church fathers…and not THE Jesus who is the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of the Father (whom they are denying). And they lead multitudes astray (who have fallen “asleep” to His righteousness) to their mortal destruction.

2Co 11:3-4 KJV
(3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
(4) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

False brothers (the “tares”) have been brought in “unawares” to bring us into their bondage…into keeping and serving their church handwritings of ordinances whereby people judge each other with which is serving the sin which leads them to the death of their mortal bodies. The “truth of the gospel” is not being preached among them.

Gal 2:4-5 KJV
(4) And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
(5) To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

The “house of God” = you have been our “dwelling place” in all generations.

Psa 90:1-4
(1) A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place (HOUSE) in all generations.
(2) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art G
od.

You turn man to destruction (in judgment) and say “RETURN”, you children of men....not wanting men to perish but come to repentance.

(3) Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

For a “thousand years” in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past. This is the judgment period of the “dwelling place” ….the “house of God”…when we are turned over to destruction for judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

This in Psalms 90 is where the saying “that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” in 2 Peter 3 comes from. It deals with the thousand year judgment upon the house of God…the “dwelling place”.

(4) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

“RETURN”, ye children of men….. as He is not willing that any perish under His judgment but that all should come to repentance…to RETURN to Him.

2Pe 3:
(7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
(8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

To be continued…

“It is appointed unto men once to die”…..but after this is the judgment. The judgment starts with the house of God….His people.
Judgment starts with the people of God - those who know right from wrong. But this is not talking about judgment/condemnation on them.

In Ezek 9 - they first mark those saints who are for God - starting at the house of God, only after that point are the wicked slain.

Then He cried out in my presence with a loud voice, saying, “Come forward, you executioners of the city, each with his weapon of destruction in his hand.” 2 And behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate which faces north, each with his smashing weapon in his hand; and among them was one man clothed in linen with a scribe’s kit at his waist. And they came in and stood beside the bronze altar.
3 Then the glory of the God of Israel ascended from the cherub on which it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen at whose waist was the scribe’s kit. 4 And the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and make a mark on the foreheads of the people who groan and sigh over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” 5 But to the others He said in my presence, “Go through the city after him and strike; do not let your eye have pity and do not spare. 6 Utterly kill

In Dan 7 the judgment in heaven begins -- the saints are being persecuted all through that time. But finally vs 22 "judgment is passed in favor of the saints" and the end comes.

2 Cor 5:10 we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ

This statement (“It is appointed unto men once to die”) is about the sacrifice of Christ who ONCE died for us all.
it is about "men" -- all mankind dies the first death
And it is specifically showing how that applies to Christ and the fact that His sacrifice was "once for all" time.

The Dan 7 judgment in heaven does not start until sometime after the fall of the Pagan Roman Empire (the fourth beast of Dan 7)

certainly He died once.
2 Cor 5:10 the judgment is future to the NT "we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ"
Rom 2:16 there is a future "day that God will judge mankind through Jesus Christ" -- future to the letter of the Romans.

and now we, His people, are all judged.
Judgment passed in favor of the saints - Dan 7:22 does not happen until the end - and as long as that judgment process goes on according to Dan 7 - the saints are under persecution/tribulation including the 1260 years of tribulation identified in Dan 7 and in Rev 11, and in Rev 12, and in Rev 13

The persecution will not stop before that judgment completes as Dan 7 points out.
Heb 9:26-28 KJV
(26) For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
(27) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The time IS COME (after His sacrifice for us)that this judgment must begin at the house of God.
But it did not start until some time after the pagan Roman Empire fell as Dan 7 points out - and it continues for as long as saints are persecuted on the Earth as Dan 7, Rev 12 etc point out.

so it is still going on to this very day.

Dan 7, 8, 9 contain info which when added up tell us what year that judgment event in heaven started.
This judgment upon the house of God is the period of “1000 years”.
No it is not.

2 Thess 1:5-8 tells us "those who do not know God" and also those "who do not obey the gospel" will be destroyed at Christ's appearing.
1 Thess 4:13-18 tells us that the dead in Christ as well as those who "alive and remain" until the coming of the Lord - will be caught up - rapture to heaven at that same appearing event future to the time of the NT writers. --- still future to our own day.

Rev 20:1-5 informs us that that is the 'first resurrection"

Jer 4:23-28 tells us that what is left after that is a "desolate Earth" with "no humans" and cities all destroyed by God Himself.

But after the 1000 years there will be what John calls a "second resurrection"
It is not a literal thousand years
It is in fact a literal 1000 years.

There is no such thing in the Bible as a 1000 years that is not a literal 1000 years. It takes place after the 7 plagues of Rev 16

Matt 24:29-31 tells us that "after the tribulation" Christ appears and all nations of the Earth see him - then in vs 31 He sends forth His angels to gather His elect from one end of the sky to the other -- (The rapture) this is the same as Rev 19 event and is called "The first resurrection" in Rev 20:4-6.

2 Peter 3 tells us that the two events "the coming of the Lord" and "the elements of Earth melt" -- are events that span 1000 years - and it is called "the Day of the Lord".

Rev 19 shows the coming of the Lord
Rev 20 shows the 1000 years and then the elements melting in the lake of fire.

All of it literal in that case since a book that does include symbols can also have literal events and people depicted in it.
Just as we all see in the case of the book of Daniel.
