I also remember I had a Tool CD. How about this, I'm looking for metal bands that have:

- Hard instrumentals
- Female vocals

Does that narrow it down a bit more? Thanks!

I actually don't know too many female-fronted Christian bands playing the type of metal that I listen to. Here are two, although they might not quite be what you're looking for given the bands you've mentioned (HB have already been suggested but I prefer to post music videos or live performances as those work better for me).

Definitely in that group of bands that has members who are Christian though they consider themselves to not be a Christian band. There are a lot of those in the metal world. I saw them in concert this summer with The Devil Wears Prada. They were quite good live.

I'm not sure "Killswitch Engage" ever claimed to be a Christian band but if you check out the lyrics of their songs, it's 100% clean, no cussing, no explicit lines.

Their lyrical themes is often about finding hope in despair or finding truth in a world of lies. Things that are actually Biblical.
