I chose the same verse...soooo true12 Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.
Man of Integrity.
I just heard in the news that the press is reaming Mike Pence, our Vice President, for refusing to have dinner alone with a woman. It seems he had made a vow to not be alone with a woman other than his wife, and he actually follows through on it. A man who "honors" his wife, his marriage, himself, and God, is ridiculed for being "honorable" and being a man of integrity.
I found several verses that stood out to me .
Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. Prov. 10:4.
If we don't do work, we won't get anywhere in life, which also reminds me of Colossians 3:23.
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. v. 9.
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs. v. 12.
Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. v. 17.
The comparisons made between wisdom/discipline compared to foolish/ignorant stand out to me throughout the whole book of Proverbs, and it kind of makes me wonder why anyone would rather be foolish or ignorant, but some don't understand and some don't care.
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. v. 25.
I just really love this verse.
The way of the LORD is a refuge for the blameless, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. v. 29.
The more I think about it, the more I find this to be true because for those who do evil, the way of the LORD truly is their downfall because they refuse to follow it and will suffer in hell because of that rejection.
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
God help us listen to Your instruction and heed it, in Jesus name, amen.
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
8 The wise are glad to be instructed,
but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. v. 25.
I just really love this verse.
God help us listen to Your instruction and heed it, in Jesus name, amen.
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
7 We have happy memories of the godly,
but the name of a wicked person rots away.
......this is so true...I have such happy memories of dear Christian friends
.....but there are people I would rather forget...
sometimes I stay home to keep out of trouble...Amen, that is soooooo true for me.....God is GOOD...He's patiently teaching me to bridle my tongue.
