• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I just noticed this forum, but there are no threads yet. I guess I can be first!

Addiction is not for non-Christians only. I know plenty of Christians who struggle with addiction. And I don't mean those who converted after getting straight either.

I know that CF can be a rough and tumble atmosphere. Some of the forums can generate quite a bit of strife. I can understand how some people might be reluctant to post here, and then have their problems referenced in another forum.

I have some knowledge and experience in this field, so PM me anytime.

The standard answer given to people who are seeking recovery is to join AA/NA or go for inpatient treatment. These are not the only solutions available, and can be detrimental for some people. I have some other resources and have done a lot of searching. I hope I can be of help.

I'm glad to see this new forum. How about you?

You are right! I was still addicted to drugs after I became a christian. It wasn't till a short time ago that I finally decided to stop doing drugs.

Another thing is, that a lot of Christians are addicted to pornography. The thing that makes a Christian person from being addicted to pornography, or any other thing, is that Christians know it's wrong. Secular people don't always know that what they're doing is a sin. :sigh:
