I have a baby born at 24 weeks gestation who is now 8 months old (birth age). At 13 days old she had E Coli Meningitis which caused Hydrocephalus. It wouldn't resolve on its own, so she had a temporary shunt put in (subgaleal shunt with Rickham reserviour). After the reserviour closed up twice, they replaced it with a permanent VP shunt.
She had that put in 3 months ago and is doing quite well now.
I would love to chat with other mums/ dads who have a prem with a shunt, or even to those who have kids with a shunt (even if not prem).
