I actually don't. There are two covenants. The OLD and The NEW. Now, where did Paul place the Decalogue? Hmmmmm

The Blood of Christ

I'm not even in Scripture and I'm recalling some passage fragments... "Ministry of death, chiseled in stone". Hmmmm... "Whenever Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts"... "~~The Slave woman and her child correspond to Mount Sanai~~".... I had to correct the Galatians 4 quote... Gal 4:24 These things are illustrations,[a] for the women represent the two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery—this is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.

I did have to look up Colossians 2:14 He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.

Interesting point. The exact words, "It is Finished", complete two matters. One, the exact words that Christ Spoke, correspond to the Hebrew concept of nullifying debt. Two, God never said... "It is Finished" in the creation account... but finally said it at Golgotha.

The old man and the flesh thereof is not crucified, I am not serving the Law of God with my mind, and therefore, because of the curses God Promised, "the Law of Sin", sin reigns once again, in my mortal body.

In Deuteronomy 31:26, the entire book of the law is placed beside the "ARK of THE COVENANT" and said to be a Witness AGAINST thee. A witness against someone is also known as an ACCUSER.

These curse's include deception, God giving us over to delusions that we would believe lies, seared conscience etc.

This is how, in Matthew 7, that "many" who called Jesus their Lord, can walk in iniquity as if they weren't doing anything wrong.

I believe you agree. There is a Person who is stronger than the sin nature. Unlike us no matter how well intended to obey God we are we are weak through the fallen body. That Person has become "the Spirit of life" (Rom. 8:2) or "a life giving Spirit" (1 Cor. 15:45) to blend into our innermost being - our regenerated spirit.

Now with this background of Romans 8 I would like to highlight how Paul's quotations of Deuteronomy 30 relate to this.

For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to everyone who believes. (Rom. 10:4)
Christ is the end of the law not a second beginning to the law. Are we on the same page? [edited]

For Moses writes concerning the righteousness which is out of the law: “The man who does them shall live by them.” (v.5)
Paul is about to CONTRAST . . . what Moses wrote with the work of Christ. Am I with you?
The next sentence begins with "But" indicating that Paul wants us to see a contrast between what Moses wrote and what Christ did and is.

But the righteousness which is out of faith speaks in this way, Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?” that is, to bring Christ down; (v.6)
Christ is that "WHO" who has been in heaven to know full well the will of God. I find it helpful to compare this with Psalm 24,4).

Who may ascend the mountain of Jehovah, / And who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, / Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood / Or sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:3,4)

We all know that only the Son of God qualifies for His absolute dedication to the Father and the Son's infinitely clean heart.

Or, “Who will descend into the abyss?” that is, to bring Christ up from the dead. (Rom. 10:7)
Christ is the WHO who has traversed the highest point and the lowest points in the universe. No one else qualifies
As such He is everything we need. He is everything God needs. This is quite a continuation of Romans chapter 8.

The next verses are about contacting Him, touching Him within, availing ourselves of Him and the power of His living grace.
This necessity to tap into this living Person is now stressed.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of the faith which we proclaim,(v.8)
The near word is the gospel of Christ, the gospel of the grace of God - "the word of the faith which we preach".
That is Jesus Himself the available One. He is just a call away to the Christians. We call on Him and He is available - not just
once but everytime. " Lord Jesus, O Lord Jesus." He is so near. Paul has previously elaborated on Christ being the indwelling
Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, etc in Romans 8.

He is using Deuteronomy to teach how near and available and practical Christ is. And with Christ the empowering grace of His life.

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; (v.9)
For with the heart there is believing unto righteousness, and with the mouth there is confession unto salvation. (v.10)

The initial entrance into this eternal security of being saved is believing Christ is risen, alive, available which results in
Justification. But that is by no means the end. He continues to be rich to all who call on Him.

For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes on Him shall not be put to shame.” (v.11)
That is when we first were saved. That is today. That is tomorrow. That is forever. Calling on this One
whom we believe is alive and so near will never result in our being put to shame - forever.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all and rich to all who call upon Him;
He is equally RICH to all Jew or Gentile who calls to Him to experience Him.
This is true not [only] when the sinner first called on Him. It is true throughout the rest of his or her life.
The unsearchable riches of Christ are there for our eternal salvation and our daily salvation.
The salvation is really just being made one with Him. And His rich resurrection life is our supply.

For “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (v.12)

Christ is the end of the law. But He is the beginning of salvation in grace.
Grace is Christ being everything for us, all that we need, empowering, suppying, dispensing His life into us in
a mingled and blended way. Isn't this how Paul utizes the Deuteronomy passage?

He contrasts "the righteousness which is out of the law" with "the word of the faith which we preach".

He is equally RICH to all Jew or Gentile who calls to Him to experience Him.
This is true not when the sinner first called on Him. It is true throughout the rest of his or her life.
The unsearchable riches of Christ are there for our eternal salvation and our daily salvation.
The salvation is really just being made one with Him. And His rich resurrection life is our supply.

For “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (v.12)

Christ is the end of the law. But He is the beginning of salvation in grace.
Grace is Christ being everything for us, all that we need, empowering, suppying, dispensing His life into us in
a mingled and blended way. Isn't this how Paul utizes the Deuteronomy passage?

He contrasts "the righteousness which is out of the law" with "the word of the faith which we preach".

righteousness like armor on your chest, (Jesus)

all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to everyone who believes. (Rom. 10:4)

Christ is not the beginning of the law but the end of the law.

Christ is not the end of the law unto more sinning.
He is not the end of the law unto more unrighteousness.

He is the end of the law "unto righteousness". Of course that is "to everyone who believes" in Christ.

Romans 10:4 needs to be read in context and in its entirety

Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for [a]Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

When Paul used the words Christ is the end of the law- he meant purpose- telas. He is not teaching we can vain God's holy name, worship other gods, covet, steal or break the least of these commandments, the opposite of what Christ taught Mat 5:19 or even what he taught Rom 7:12 Romans 9:4 1 Cor 7:19

The goal of the law is to bring us to Christ Psa 19:7 Gal 3:24 and Christ brings us to obey the law. John 14:15 Mat 5:19-30 Mat 15:3-14 Mark 7:7-8. Our obedience to God is a reflection of our faith Rev 14:12 Rom 3:31 and it shows one is not depending on their righteousness, but on Christs Psa 119:172 which is everlasting Psa 119:142 and that saving faith to trust Jesus at His Word and to do His teachings is what reconciles us Rev 22:14. Paul never taught anything different, but was hard to understand and many take his writings out of context. Its important to always reconcile everyone's writings to Christ Words. The apostles were servants of Christ Mat 28:18-20 and never taught anything different than what Jesus taught.

Believing means to be obedient to Christ. There will be many people who believe the name of the Lord that will say Lord Lord, but did not submit to God's will and therefore Christ says depart from Me, ye who practice lawlessness. Mat 7:21-23.

To know Christ is to obey Him and walk just as He walked.

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, has set us free from the law of sin and death?
