The very fact that we still have “men’s clothes” and “women’s clothes” (all the while thinking this is normal and the natural order of things), shows the extent of the issue.
Why is a tuxedo “male”? Or an evening gown “female”?
Great question! It’s accepted? I don’t know.

Broette, I am not gonna debate you on this. God made two genders, and we must respect our bodies. Man stays man, woman stays woman. Anything else is contradictory to the Bible. Modern technology (medical advances) made transgenderism possible. Humans can use tech to glorify God (renewable energy, automating farming to grow more crops, spreading the Gospel online), or to go our own worldly ways (such as changing genders, viewing bad content, developing nukes). I try to use technology for good.
Trans has always existed, as far as we know. What modern technology made possible is hormone treatments and surgery. Nobody cares what you think the Bible says about it.

As was mentioned, trans people have existed throughout history, and people aren't always born male and female (various chromosome disorders such as X0, XYY, XXY, etc., not to mention mosaicism and genital birth defects). The best evidence shows that being trans, at least for most, is a birth defect caused in the womb.

That still doesn’t change the sex though. Biologically, they are still the sex they are.

But (overall) they’re happier.
They don’t need your version of “truth” to maintain that happiness.
You’re still allowed to judge them as “crazy” or “mentally ill”, so long as they’re allowed to live their lives as they see fit.

Yeah, but those disorders of multiple chromosomes are 1 in 500 people, vs the trans movement which is 1 in 70 Americans, as I said in an earlier post. The trans movement is 5-10x bigger compared to people born with an extra chromosome. See the discrepancy? So that means healthy individuals with a regular XX or XY set of chromosomes want to shift their original gender.

That is understandable, but the movement really blew up over the past few years. And, as you have another religion (as stated on your profile), I will not judge your beliefs. In fact, I know a few people of other religions, and they tend to be very peaceful compared to a lot of Christians. Other religions have the right to support any movement, but for Christians such as myself, I do not support this movement.

As a hypothetical father, I would not let my daughter use public restrooms if a random guy can waltz in proclaiming that he is a woman. If a 14 year old can not drink beer, and brains are not fully developed until age 25, changing gender is a bad idea.
As a real life father of six and grandfather of 9 I am in agreement with you on this.

How long before we catch up with Great Britain?

Absolutely right! Trans issues are the least of our concerns now.
Absolutely correct:

1. Sustained high inflation
2. a porous Southern Border
3. a (IMHO) weak and mostly feckless commander in chief costing military lives
4. US citizens being held hostage and Joe is more concerned about the radical left's complaining than getting them home.

It is almost identical to Jimmy Carter part one.

Hopefully it will end the same.

Well, I have somewhat different issues, though some issues overlap with yours. Such as solving global warming (not by making more EVs, but by investing in public transport, biomass, and recyclable wind turbine tech), better immigrant screening (to prevent bad actors fro entering our country), fixing our roads, we should cut our military spending by 50%, and we should place income caps on Big Pharma and Elon Musk.

We have been hearing of impending doom via climate change for more than five decades.

I don’t believe it for a minute. When I was your age the experts were screaming the warning of the impending ice age to come by 1985

Closing the borders to the level that Trump had it was working. Remain in Mexico was working. It would be a good place to start.
fixing our roads,
Agree
we should cut our military spending by 50%,
The ONLY thing that would result in is our being open for attack because of our weakness. Cut spending in half equates to reducing our military in half.

Our enemies would love it.

and we should place income caps on Big Pharma and Elon Musk.

Elon Musk? Why? You do realize one of the major elements of Ukraine survival is communications. Musk is providing high speed internet for free. Are you not aware?

Why not Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg? Or Jeff Bezos?

Well hey, even if we may have differing beliefs about climate change, we both agree on thorough border screenings. For placing caps on Big Pharma and Musk, I was using Musk as an example of billionaires. We should have income caps on all billionaires such as Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg and others. Yes, Musk has done some good things, but at the same time, he has treated his employees poorly at his Tesla factory.

Maybe cutting out military budget in half will not work, but we could spend a little less money on fighting foreign wars, and focus on helping our own country instead.

Imagine having a condition that only you can “feel” and that there is a treatment available but made unattainable by the State that you reside in.
I’d be depressed too.

Feelings come and go. We do not know what the long term effects are. Sorry, that’s just my view.

Okay, say it’s made so that people seeking transgender healthcare should have a “waiting period” of, oh, say six months before treatment begins…would that be a good idea?

We do not know what the long term effects are.
What is this supposed to mean?

Sorry, that’s just my view.
Which you’re entitled to. That it seems to lack any empathy for these folk is probably a judgement I’ve put on you and I must work on that.
