How possible can it be to find the right person in an online encounter .
Have heard some folks testify how they met their better half's on line .
Sometimes as a single guy I'm left to wander if this can really work , knowing fully well the demands of relationship .
However I hope it works and maybe Someday.

Online can work for sure but beware of scammers and long distance relationships (if applicable) have an extra layer of issues. Let God lead you though on and offline and keep faith, he really does care about mate selection. I met my wife through a Facebook singles group. It was a long shot and I spent over a year being active in that group before I finally met my her, so I wouldn't really recommend it. People in that group were mostly from all over the US with some being from all over the world and she was the only one that I found who was remotely close to where I lived. We both agree that our relationship probably wouldn't have worked out it had been more difficult to meet regularly. Long distance relationships are hard and it can be easy to fall in love with our image of who someone is without being able to meet regularly. But it worked for us.

So how did things work out?

My experience is that dating apps and websites are flawed in their sorting features when it comes to compatibility. I don't want kids or someone who drinks and it never fails to be sent tons of matches of women who do or want one or both.... I gave up online and the churches told me I am wrong for not wanting kids and they did not support my stance, though I feel it is well justified. I'll go to my grave alone

I never knew what to answer about wanting kids. I have three, and yes, I wanted them and they're great. I'd adjust to being a step-mum if circumstances led to that and I was never opposed to adopting, but I'd hope that God wouldn't ask me to put my body through another pregnancy of my own. So is that "I don't want kids" in a dating app, or "I want kids"? Since it's complicated, they need more options!

Same. I have a grown son. I'm done having kids, but I LOVE kids. I usually put some kind of addendum in my profile, like "I have a son who is grown, so I am done having children of my own, but I'd certainly accept kids if they were already in your life!"
